The writer Julie Burchill has asked her friends to leave her to grieve after the suicide of her son Jack. What can you say to a parent who loses a child in such a way? Ingrid's daughter Michelle had been a happy high achieving woman who was tackling depression when she took her own life in the family home at the age of twenty eight. That was six years ago, and Ingrid now works on a helpline answering the phone to other parents whose children have committed suicide.
