Stage 16 | Plaza conquers the descent of the Manse

July 20 | In this edition of the Telegraph Cycling Podcast, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe are joined by VeloNews correspondent Andy Hood to discuss Ruben Plaza's victory in the 16th stage of the Tour de France.

The veteran Spaniard negotiated the fast, tricky and hazardous descent of the Col de Manse on the run-in to Gap to win the stage, despite a spirited attempt by Peter Sagan to catch him.

The descent was also notable for a collision between Warren Barguil and Geraint Thomas that sent the Welshman flying. Thomas hit his head on a telegraph pole and had to be helped back to the road before getting back on his bike. We hear from Thomas and Barguil.

There's also an interview with the man from the Slovak TV crew whose job it is to follow Sagan every day at the Tour... and there's a perhaps predictable, but thoroughly deserved, winner of the Pédaleur de Charme prize.
