Claire and Jane, a mother and grandmother from Nottinghamshire are only too aware of the lure of the conflict. Claire's son has gone to fight for the YPG - this is a Kurdish militia that has been battling IS in Iraq and Syria. Claire and Jane are not their real names - the Foreign office has advised them not to reveal their identity for security reasons -- and their son, goes under his Kurdish name of Rojhat. Claire explained why Rojhat had decided to go.
