Life as a Visual Storyteller—Episode 39—7th September, 2015: When Should You Just Give Up and Do Something Else?
The struggling creative shouldn't be an accepted norm. It shouldn't be the standard. I'm guilty of casting the professional creative's life in that light. But I am conscious that, while I find it hard, this doesn't have to be your reality. There is no law that says, "Making a living as a creative shall be mind-crushingly difficult." In fact, I personally know successful creatives.
That raises a tricky question. One struggling creatives would rather not have to answer. At what point do you have to admit to yourself that you're not going to cut it as a professional creative? When do you bow out?
I admit freely that these are on my mind.
