Protestors Target Mulberry over Workers' Rights

The fashion design group Mulberry has been accused of failing to safeguard the rights of workers in Turkey. The BBC's Audrey Tinline discusses how garment companies are being pressed to make sure employees at their suppliers are not working in poor conditions with the fashion designer Orsola de Castro, co-founder of the campaign group Fashion Revolution.

The company that operates the plant in Izmir, SF Leather, has told the BBC that the claims are "speculative groundless allegations." SF leather tells us it values human rights, is not anti-union, worker overtime is voluntary and an audit by the Turkish government has shown that it complies fully with international standards.
