Report as Manchester City beat Norwich City 2-1 through second-half goals from Nicolas Otamendi and Yaya Toure, with an equaliser from Cameron Jerome inbetween rattling the hosts.

Manchester City top the Premier League on goal difference ahead of Arsenal, who won at Swansea, and the Citizens have now won 6 from their last 7 games in all competitions since losing 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in September.

Norwich have now lost four straight Premier League games but can take many positives from a defiant performance here, ensuring no repeat of their 7-0 humbling in this fixture almost exactly two years ago, on 1 November 2013.

Wilfred Bony had missed two good chances for the Citizens in the first-half and saw another well saved by John Ruddy, who also kept out a free-kick from Yaya Toure

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany put a diving header wide, whilst Matthew Jarvis did sting the palms of Joe Hart on the counter-attack for Norwich but the hosts totally dominated proceedings.

Manchester City deserved led midway through the second period as Otamendi headed in a corner from kevin De Bruyne, with questionable marking from defender Ryan Bennett, as highlighted by manager Alex Neil in his press conference after the match.

Norwich equalised with just seven minutes of normal time left as a cross from Robbie Brady was spilt by Hart, allowing Cameron Jerome to score with ease from less than a yard out.

Jerome was only playing because of illness to fellow striker Dieumerci Mbokani but looked to have secured an unlikely point for the visitors, until just four minutes left when the hosts scored what proved to be the winner.

Another De Bruyne cross was spilled by Ruddy, falling for Raheem Sterling, whose goalbound shot was only blocked by the arm of visiting captain Russell Martin, who was sent off.

The resultant penalty saw Yaya Toure score to the right of Ruddy despite the Norwich goalkeeper going the right way, the Ivorian's effort having too much power and precision to be stopped.

The last action of the match saw the Citizens nearly put an undeserved gloss on the scoreline as a counter-attack from the hosts lead to Brady fouled Sterling to concede another spot-kick.

This time Toure had been substituted so left-back Aleksander Kolarov stepped up in the 7th minute of stoppage time, but put his effort one yard wide of the post to the left of Ruddy, leaving City to settle for a 2-1 win.
