Amarjit Kaur arrived in Preston from India in January 1972.

Nearly 50 years on, Amarjit is now 63, mother to three sons and a daughter - Rupinder Kaur Hardman...

Rupinder is a teacher and married with two young daughters - three-year-old Maya and seven-year-old Grace....

BBC Radio Lancashire brought together three generations of the family - Grace, her Mum Rupinder and Nana Amarjit - to talk about a range of issues relating to race relations - to mark the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the Race Relations Act. This was recorded by our reporter Rachael Dry.
