Vanessa interviewed Anne Schenk, vice president of development for Gleaners, about the Gleaners Million Meal Match and the 23rd Annual Women’s Power Breakfast. Starting April 1st, Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan launched its Million Meal Match campain. The goal of the one-month campaign is to raise 1 million meals for hungry children in southeastern Michigan. They talked about how donations to the campaign are matched by local sponsors, which in turn, means that every dollar donated can generate six meals for hungry kids. They also discussed the 23rd annual Women’s Power Breakfast. This breakfast brings together over 600 of metro Detroit’s most powerful female leaders together. The event will happen on Thursday, April 21st at the Detroit Eastern Market. Gleaners, which is headquartered in Detroit, has been serving the local community for nearly 40 years.
