Steve Cropper - Otis Redding, The Blues Brothers

Episode 23,   May 23, 2016, 06:45 AM

When we first came up with the concept of The StageLeft Podcast, the Number 1 guest we wanted to interview was Steve Cropper. A man who written, produced and played on hundreds of classic songs woven into the fabric of Western culture, Steve has been recognised in the Grammy Hall of Fame and even played for President Barack Obama at The White House.

Steve talks in depth about his career, recording classics such as Soul Man, performing in The Blues Brothers and writing Sitting on the Dock of the Bay with Otis Redding, recorded only weeks before Redding passed away aged only 26.

“To be honoured at The White House is about as good as it gets, it’s like somebody in England being honoured by The Queen” #musicnews #musicpodcast #podcast #prince #musicians #musician #music #podcasts #guitar #guitars #guitarist #guitarists #Stevecropper #bluesbrothers #raycharles #soulman #eddiefloyd #justintimberlake #JT #thebeatles #johnlennon #ringostarr #thebluesbrothers #blues #songwriting
