Uluru - This Week's Landmark Landscape

May 30, 2016, 01:29 PM

Each week on the Great Destinations Radio show, we’ll focus on one of the world’s most striking structures or landscapes. We’re starting down under at Ayers Rock –now known by its aboriginal name Uluru. The 863 m sandstone mass rises from the desert in the Australian outback and appears to change colour when it glows red at dawn and sunset. Ozzie travel expert, Michela Fantinel says it’s magical. And she has some excellent tips on how to get the best from a trip to the outback. Hear her talk with Keri Jones.

It’s just under 4 hrs flights from Sydney to Ayers Rock/Uluru and low cost carriers Jetstar and Virgin Australia both fly daily and direct. Michela has more tips on her website and you can buy her book here: http://www.rockytravel.net/australia-solo-travel-book
