South African Debt Could be Downgraded to Junk Status

South Africa's sovereign debt could be downgraded to junk status later. The ratings agency Standard and Poor's is due to make its position on South Africa known after trading closes on Friday.

In Angola there is controversy over the new boss of the country's oil company Sonangol. Why? Because she is the daughter of President Jose Eduardo dos Santos who recently sacked the entire board of the company.

Turkey's President Erdogan is in East Africa this week on a series of official state visits. Yesterday Mr Erdogan was in Kenya leading a delegation of Turkish business people keen to improve trade links.
