The author of a new book about package holidays explains why British holidaymakers are still better off using travel agents, rather than making their own holiday and flight bookings. Dave Richardson has written “Let's Go: A History of Package holidays and Escorted Tours”. The book documents the history of all-inclusive breaks and escorted tours, from the early Thomas Cook tours in Leicestershire to the Benidorm breaks, which became popular in the 1960s and 1970s.
