John Hammond wants State Govt to control meth supply

Prominent WA lawyer John Hammond has called for the West Australian Government to take control of methamphetamine.

Today, Justice Minister Michael Keenan and Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission CEO Chris Dawson announced a record 105,862 national illicit drug seizures and 133,926 national illicit drug arrests in the 2014-15 financial year.

But Mr Hammond said it's time the State Government tried something radical, and take over the supply, manufacture and distribution of meth.

He told Gary Adshead on the 6PR Morning Program that the move has worked in other parts of the world.
