'East Anglia has its own local radio station' announced Tim Ewart proudly in the first news bulletin on Radio Orwell - after words from the company chairman Commander John Jacobs and the managing director Donald Brooks.  Keith Rogers hosted the first breakfast show on relaxed form - complete with signature tune  - with the first record from Gladys Knight and the Pips'-  The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me; and the first ad from the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce and Shipping.
