57: Demanding DHS Cut Ties with Private Prisons & the WVU Letter That Went Viral
On September 28, former immigrant detainees confronted head of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson outside a public speaking event to demand he address the crisis inside immigrant detention centers and cut the department’s contracts with private prisons.
Jacinta Gonzalez, Field Director of Mijente/Not1More Deportation campaign, gave us more details about Secretary Johnson's response to the confrontation.
