Happy Halloween! We’re celebrating with another of Matt’s long-time friends: Davey Havok from AFI. They’re getting ready to put out a new self-titled record known as ‘Blood’ early next year—the first new music from AFI since 2013’s ‘Burials’ album—so we thought it’d be the perfect time to catch up. Davey will tell us about the foundations of the band—sleeping under the van on some of their earliest tours, the bands that inspired him growing up—like Duran Duran and Killing Joke, and how Billie Joe from Green Day personally tapped him to take on the lead in ‘American Idiot’ on Broadway. He’s been on quite an amazing journey so far in his career…so kick back, grab some candy corn, and enjoy our conversation with Davey Havok from AFI! Make sure to subscribe to the ‘Two Hours With Matt Pinfield Podcast’ now so you don’t miss any of our upcoming interviews.
