JOHNNY STEVENS – from Highly Suspect’s beginnings to their Grammy nominations and new album: ‘The Boy Who Died Wolf’

Today we’re joined by lead singer and founding member of Highly Suspect: Johnny Stevens. They’ve got a new album coming out on November 18th called ‘The Boy Who Died Wolf’…you’ve likely heard their latest single “My Name Is Human” if you’ve been listening to our nightly show. Their 2015 release 'Mister Asylum' was nominated for the ‘Best Rock Album’ award at last year’s Grammys where their song “Lydia” was also nominated for ‘Best Rock Song’. We’re huge fans of their resurgent rock sound similar to some of our other favorite bands like Royal Blood and Death From Above 1979. Johnny and Matt talk about going to Bogota, Columbia to write and record their new album, as well as the band’s early years in Cape Cod, and their love for the music community in Brooklyn, New York. Make sure to subscribe to the ‘Two Hours with Matt Pinfield Podcast’ so you don’t miss any of our upcoming conversations!
