Today our guest is Sumbul Ali-Karamali, author of The Muslim Next Door: The Qur’an, the Media, and That Veil Thing and Growing Up Muslim: Understanding the Beliefs and Practices of Islam, books written to help non-muslim adults and youth understand Islam. She and Stephanie Van Hook discuss what it means to be Muslim, what its like growing up as a Muslim in the United States, and tackle many of the questions and misperceptions people have about muslims.
