In 1967 the influential Parisian composer Pierre Henry was commissioned to write the inaugural mass for Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. A family bereavement prevented it from being completed in time for a full performance at the cathedral's opening but this Saturday (13/05/17), to mark the 50th anniversary of the cathedral, it will be performed for the first time with Henry's blessing and under the supervision of his sound engineer, Thierry Balasse.
