Presented by Brenda Drumm, Faithcast is a mixture of interviews and news snippets from the Catholic Church in Ireland.

In this episode of Faithcast, Brenda speaks to Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Prefect of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, about his expectations for the World Meeting of Families 2018.

Brenda also speaks to Father Brett Brannen, from the Diocese of Savannah USA. Father Brannen is in Maynooth this week giving the annual retreat to the Diocesan Vocations Directors.

The faith news this week features:  The statement by the Catholic Bishops in Northern Ireland in advance of the Westminster Parliament elections on 8 June;  The 48th annual Irish Church Music Association Summer School;  The statement from the Missionary Society of Saint Columban opposing the USA’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement;  Trócaire’s garden with a conscience winning a Silver Medal at the Bloom Festival;  Ecumenical Bible Week 2017; and,  Pope Francis’ prayers for the victims of last Saturday’s terror attack in London.

This week’s podcast also features the official hymn for the World Meeting of Families 2018 which was launched in Dublin last week. The hymn 'A Joy For All The Earth' was written by renowned Irish composer Ephrem Feeley from the Diocese of Meath.
