'Dark Chapter' - American author @winniemli publishes story on surviving Belfast rape

Just a warning for this next item, some people may find it distressing as it deals with a sexual crime. In 2008 an American woman was viciously raped by a teenage stranger on a visit to Belfast. Film producer Winnie M Li had decided to go for a walk in Colin Glen forest park where she was attacked by 15 year old Edward Gerard Connors. He was later sentenced to eight years in prison with two years' probation. He served four years in jail. She has now written a novel called Dark Chapter inspired by her experience and those of other women telling the story of a rape from the perspectives of both the victim and perpetrator. Winnie will be appearing at the Belfast Book Festival tonight and Stephen has been speaking to her.
