In episode 22 of Faithcast, Brenda speaks to Eoin Wrenn, Trócaire’s Head of Region for east-Africa, about the emergency situation in east-Africa, where 25 million people are facing an extreme hunger crisis. She also speaks to Gary Carville, Diocesan Communications Officer in Clogher, about the importance of introducing young people to pilgrimage.

The faith news this week features Archbishop Eamon Martin’s comments on Fatima, Knock and Lourdes as hope-filled and challenging gifts to the faithful; the ordination of former Manchester United footballer Father Philip Mulryne; the new documentary from Trócaire 'This is Palestine'; Claims by archaeologists that they have discovered the remains of the cell of Saint Columba on the Scottish island of Iona; and, President Michael D. Higgins’ tribute to the decision by the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference to organise special collections at churches to raise funds for people affected by the east-Africa hunger crisis.
