Interview with David Lean

Jul 25, 2017, 09:34 AM

David Lean, a survivor of Childhood Sexual Abuse and ambassador for the Voicing CSA charity, joined us to talk about his recent 24hr sponsored walk to raise awareness of #childabuse for #CSASurvivors everywhere.

At 12 years of age, David was sexually abused by his football coach, but 30 years later he broke his silence with evidence that led to his abuser being jailed for 2 years.

David tells us about how his case was initially rejected by the Crown Prosecution Service, but how his appeal to the Child Sexual Abuse Review Panel found it in his favour.

It is 2017 and Child Sexual Abuse remains a taboo subject. However, thanks to the bravery of the likes of David and other CSA survivors, coupled with the support from charities such as Voices CSA, SAVE Association and the Offside Trust, there is hope and support for all victims.
