October 9 – England qualify as Scotland fail (again)

Danny Parkinson and Joe Redmond are back once again to make your Monday that little bit brighter with another Football Verdict podcast.

This week, the pair take a look back at the internationals as #England both of their games – albeit uninspiringly – to qualify for #Russia2018, but it's glorious failure #Scotland who get within a whisker after beating Slovakia at Hampden Park but can't beat #Slovenia in Ljubljana and finish third in the group and will miss out on the #WorldCup.

It's the playoffs for #NorthernIreland though despite their two defeats, but #Wales & #Ireland have yet to find out their fate and will face-off in Cardiff in a winner-takes-all clash.

There might not have been any #PremierLeague but domestic football continued in the lower leagues, with League One leaders #Shrews having their lead cut at the top after they could only manager a point at #Walsall, but #WAFC and #BCAFC both picking up big wins.

In League Two #ECFC went top of the league thanks to #Notts County slipping up at home #FGRFC, who were bottom at the start of play
