Women 100: Roles of Women in the British Army- Padre

2017 celebrates 100 years of women being employed by the British Army. Back in 1917 women’s roles involved cooking, admin and mechanical work but a century later they stand shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. By 2019 all 70 roles in the army will be open to women. Padre Catherine Gillham has served with the army for 7 and a half years and is now attached to the Welsh Guards based in Pirbright.
