UN Child Protection officer calls for action on alarming number of Street Kids in Wau

The competence of Wau State child protection program has been cast into the spotlight, amid an alarming rise in the number of children pushed to the streets.

The increase has sparked security and social risk concerns as the influx of children on the streets get exposed to criminal activity.

Wau Town has recently seen a large influx of street children coming from Warrap, Aweil and Abyei, to join the already crowded street life.

UNMISS Child protection officer in Wau, Erasmus Migyikra says there is an urgent need to find a solution to the ever-growing problem of children on the streets.

He spoke with Radio Miraya Reporter Micheal Wondi. More in this interview.
