Action thriller writer Mark Wesley has been, at various times in his career, copy writer, jingle-maker, song writer and record producer but is best known as the legendary Radio Luxembourg DJ. Wesley started his career on the offshore radio station Radio Essex (using the name Mark West) in the 1960s, but is best remembered working at Radio Luxembourg throughout the 1970s. He joined Luxembourg in May 1971 and was on the station for more than a decade. It was Wesley who announced the death of Elvis Presley in a news bulletin on the station in August 1977, the first reporting of the singer's death in Europe. His new book is called Frack!
