The BIG episode: Rivalry Games & Familiar Names

Nov 17, 2017, 03:46 AM

In the seventh episode of the podcast, the girls are joined by the very first Sideline Sass guest host, former Stanford defensive lineman Jordan Watkins. Known as "Big Fella" by those who love him, Watkins was described by head coach David Shaw as the "consummate teammate." The Georgia native was part of three Rose Bowls, including the 45-16 routing of Iowa in 2016. He provides Big Game insight on both Cal and Stanford and reminisces about past Big Game weeks.

Fellow teammate Aziz Shittu, who is on the IR with the Philadelphia Eagles joins the show to talk about how his rehab is going and give some insight into those pesky late night Pac-12 start times in Philly. He is forced to choose between having Bryce Love on his team or Christian McCaffrey and his answer is absolute fire.

Lastly, Raiders kicker Giorgio Tavecchio joins the girls and chats about his favorite Big Game week memories, including the last time the Bears beat Stanford back in 2009. Tavecchio also talks about his unusual path into and through the NFL and the Raiders upcoming game in Mexico against the Patriots.
