Ep. 29: Firing On The Line Of Control
How serious are ceasefire violations? Why do they happen? How can India end this cycle of violence?
Ceasefire violations have become part and parcel of the Indo-Pacific relationship. In January 2018 alone, there were more than 100 ceasefire violations. Hosts Pavan Srinath and Hamsini Hariharan are joined by Pranay Kotasthane and Lt Gen Prakash Menon to decode the events at the border.
Lt Gen Menon (ret) has spent 40 years in the Indian army, and has extended operational experience on the Siachen glacier, the Line of Control and counterinsurgency operations in Kashmir. He is now the Director of the Strategic Studies programme at the Takshashila Institution. Pranay Kotasthane is Head, Research Programmes, the Takshashila Institution.
