National Soup It Forward Day
On a chilly, snowy day, we likely think nothing of going into the kitchen and cooking up a pot of soup, maybe just for ourselves, maybe for the family. It's easy to do, but for some folks, the warmth of a bowl of soup means more than something to fill our stomach. It can represent a bit of comfort when times get tough.
Soup Sisters and Broth Brothers is an Alberta charity that has been cooking up and serving bowls of soup to victims of domestic violence. The charity has spread across Canada with its work, and today, they have declared it National Soup It Forward Day. CEO of the Soup Sisters, Sharon Hapton joined Russell Bowers in the Daybreak studio.
