For many years charities, like the UK National Federation for the Blind, have been campaigning to have shared surface developments stopped, or reversed, in our town and city centres. The new trend has been highlighted as dangerous for many disabled people to navigate, as well as concerns for the safety of young children as pedestrians and vehicles are made to share the same space with no controlled crossings or kerbs.
