NL Wild Card, Lester adventures, UFC 229, legal streaming, best and worst World Series match-ups, Week 5 lines, and more...

Episode 690,  Oct 02, 2018, 05:06 PM

The Carton and Friends gang open the final hour of the program with Gabe saying he will trust Jon Lester, making his 22nd playoff start tonight against the Rockies, over any other pitcher in this year's playoffs. Gabe wishes UFC 229 would be fought in New York, but also acknowledges it's better off since Conor McGregor can't come to New York without smashing stuff; Gabe also says that McGregor is in a good place physically and mentally, coming in to this fight. The high cost of UFC pay-per-views has the gang questioning how to "legally" stream UFC 229. The gang thinks the most intriguing and "cool" World Series match-up would be the Dodgers and Yankees, while the most annoying would be the Red Sox and Cubs, and the most boring going to the Braves and Athletics. Looking ahead to Week 5, Gabe looks at the betting lines in the powerhouse match-up between the Chiefs and the Jaguars. The gang tips their cap to Ernie Johnson, who will be missing the TBS MLB playoff coverage as he deals with blood clots.
