She is quiet

even when speaking

with much going on beneath the surface.

it’s the things that she doesn’t say

that you need to take heed of

for the secrets to her are locked up within those silences

and only you can say

if you are brave enough

to search for the key

for her truth

is not always bright and shiny

a sparkling wonder and gem for you to pocket

and treasure

your precious

her truth is raw

and bloody

and beating

with a heart of its own

but it’s real

oh yes, it’s real

and it will cut you

and burn you

but you will never feel more alive

than when she touches you

and makes you her own
