The Football Media Podcast: Episode Eighteen - Japanese Football and its Media Culture

Jan 17, 02:14 PM

Hello and welcome to the eighteenth episode of the Football Media Podcast on the Team of John O'Sheas platform.

I'm Jon Mackenzie and, across the course of the new season, I'm going to be bringing you a weekly podcast that seeks to open up the often-murky underworld of the football media.

This week, I'm speaking to Dan Orlowitz – football writer for the Japan Times.

In the course of our conversation, we discuss his experiences of working within the Japanese media, the differences between Japanese and western media, and whether or not the AFC will ever achieve parity with other associations worldwide.

If you enjoy this podcast, please share it with your friends, subscribe, rate and review on iTunes in order to help us gain exposure and, if you are a social media person, follow us on Twitter @FootyMediaPod.

Next week, we’re talking to Ryan Baldi about the process of writing and publishing his book The Next Big Thing but, before that, it’s Dan Orlowitz, Japanese football and its media culture.

Enjoy!
