Deputy Assistant Secretary of State David Peyman explains how State implements sanctions policy, and the role of the private sector in complying with sanctions  and principles guiding sanctions approach. 
David Peyman is Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Counter Threat Finance and Sanctions. In this capacity, Mr. Peyman leads the Office of Economic Sanctions Policy and Implementation and the Office of Threat Finance Countermeasures. ‎
Mr. Peyman joined the State Department from BlackRock, Inc., where he was Global Head of Sanctions and led the sanctions compliance framework for over $6 trillion in assets under management and offices in 30 countries.
