On April 21, 1930 the worst fire in US prison history broke out at the Ohio Pentitentiary killing nearly 322 inmates.

The Ohio Pententiary experienced one of the worst disasters in the history of American prisons on April 21, 1930. Nearly 322 inmates were killed in the fire.
