In the first of their two Valentine's Day-inspired shows, Chet and Dee discuss how love works—and sometimes doesn't—in the 1973 hit, "The Way We Were." Barbra Streisand was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of a political activist who falls for a gifted writer, played by Robert Redford. Chet and Dee talk about where they think Streisand shines brightest and why Redford deserves more credit than he often gets for his own acting chops. In the best love stories—both on and off the screen—two people inspire each other to be the best that they can be, but sometimes it's hard to agree on where that should lead. In this film, Katie and Hubbell can't quite get things to work out in the end, but that doesn't mean we can't learn something from watching them try.
