Dr Henry Miller, Pacific Research Institute; in re: Anti-malarial drug, or stem cell medicine?  The corona virus has spikes around its edges, so needs a protein around it.

Need to distinguish between drugs to treat ill people, and vaccines.  Vaccines go to huge numbers of people, so the regulatory bar is very high.  Drugs have a different risk/benefit evaluation.  If an already-approved drug was found to be effective in treating another malady, it’s manufacture could be increased.  There exists a SARS vaccine, but . . .   Testing a vaccine takes so long that it’s considered more efficacious to see if an extant drug can be used.
