Should we feel #FLYSHAME?

Mar 04, 06:00 AM

Did you know that in Sweden, flying is NOT something to be proud of? The notion that you should feel guilty, every time you board a plane is a feeling plaguing Scandinavia and slowly but surely headed toward North America. Evelina Utterdahl, @earthwanderess, joins us to discuss the realities air traffic's carbon emissions, and breaking unsustainable flight habits.

Did you know that in Sweden, flying is NOT something to be proud of? The notion that you should feel guilty every time you board a plane is a feeling plaguing Scandinavia.

In this first part of our two part sustainable travel series, we're joined by Evelina Utterdahl, an environmentalist, climate activist, and sustainable traveler who publically pledged to stop flying entirely. We discuss what impact flying has on the environment and how we can reduce this impact. We also explore the nuance of #FlyShame: the privilege and accessibility that's needed to give up flying altogether.
