Canadian Ambassador to South Sudan Ambassador Douglas Scott Proudfoot talks of his government's support to nurses and midwives

Canadian Ambassador to South Sudan says it is important not to lose sight of other health issues in the country despite the threat that the coronavirus poses.

Ambassador Douglas Scott Proudfoot says the Canadian government will continue to train nurses and midwives across the country.

He said as South Sudan joins the rest of the world in celebrating nurses on the international nurses’ day, there is a need to fully support those who are practicing the ‘noble’ profession.

Ambassador Proudfoot called on the government to prioritize the payment of basic necessities of nurses and midwives.
