Ontario Grad Lives on Her Dreams

The Zombie Hunters webcomic is the perfect case example for the success story of an Ontario college grad. The webcomic is the result of the blood, sweat, and tears of graphic designer Jenny Romanchuk. The 27-year-old Sault College grad's website had a staggering 13 million hits and 111,000 unique visitors in January alone. Romanchuk had always been artistic but the skills and guidance she received from school helped her to hone her talents into a profitable avenue. When graduation time came about she had the same concerns for the future as many a young grad. Worried for her future she had a talk with her instructor. "They asked, 'What are you doing right now?' explained the artist. When she told them of her comic, and that she was starting to make a small profit, they told her to go with it. K.B. Spangler is the creator of the webcomic 'A Girl and Her Fed." She thinks that Romanchuks’ style is very unique. "Jenny has an approach to it which isn't just let's watch walking undead shamble through," told Spangler. "It's all about the human characters and what's happening in the zombie apocalypse." Currently Romanchuk has self-published a glossy-full colour graphic novel and is able to support her family with the sales of the books and fan merchandise.
