Today’s show has a special guest - Navid Nathoo, Co-Founder of The Knowledge Society. I saw him speak during an online event and he immediately got my attention when mentioning unicorn people! He was talking about some fundamental issues all of us face today - mindset, quality of relationships, technology and even networking. However, his company focuses on providing training to teenagers, who are the leaders of tomorrow. What a genius idea!
Essentially he has taken an executive training program and is delivering it to young people - I found this fascinating since this is similar to the services I provide to my clients now! We have thoughtful conversations around learning vs. education and the main areas he helps students with now. This is a reflection of society and we discuss the downstream implications this has on students and maybe has had on you.
All I am going to say is get your pen and paper out - this one is full of gems!
During this episode we discuss:
The 4 pillars of The Knowledge Society
What is first principles thinking?
“People want to be educated but they would rather be entertained” - the future is edutainment
Social pressures and agency - biggest issues facing youth today
We are confusing living a good life with not failing at life
Knowing the difference between things to happen TO you and BY you
The mindset of Antifragility (hint: not the opposite of fragile)
“Shortcuts often lead to dead ends or the wrong direction”
Your insecurities are not You
