Fifteen aircraft including F/A 18 Super Hornet and Globemaster C17s out of Amberley will take off for Canberra this morning to be part of a mass fly over to mark 100 years of the Australian Air Force.
Ipswich has played a major role in the Air Force with RAAF Base Amberley -- one of the country's largest with over 6000 personnel.
A total of 60 aircraft will take part in the mass fly over of Lake Burley Griffin from 9:30 this morning. 
More than 350,000 men and women have served in the Air Force in the past 100 years.
11,100 personnel have been killed serving our nation
