David's book delves into the history of the doll, covering cultures all over the world and how the doll changed from a symbol or warning into a plaything. As the 20th century progressed, several dolls began to gain a reputation of having certain effects on some visitors.
As we know these days, Robert the Doll and Annabelle are probably the most well known, but they are certainly not the only dolls causing the disrepectful to wish they had shown some manners.
