Charity Chief Exec’s Weekly Update 18/09/21

Season 1, Episode 948,   Sep 18, 2021, 09:00 AM

Each week we chat with RNIB’s CEO Matt Stringer to discuss the big news affecting the charity.

This week Matt talks about; the ending of the weekly £20 up lift to Universal Credit, how this will impact on blind and partially sighted people who are in receipt of Universal Credit and how visually impaired people can with the help of the RNIB's Legal Rights Service contact their MP to urge the Government to continue with the up lift to Universal Credit. With National Eye Health Week this week (20th-26th September 2021) it cannot be stressed more heavily how important it is to keep up with your regular eye tests as they can show so much more than just problems with your vision. And lastly, with a number of RNIB employees successfully completing the Great North Run in aid of RNIB there are many ways in which you can support RNIB runners in this year's London Marathon on Sunday 3 October including joining the RNIB Cheer Teams.

To find out how to contact the RNIB Legal Rights team who are here to help you with contacting your local MP to ask them to urge the Government to continue with the weekly £20 up lift to Universal Credit, ways on how you can support RNIB runners in this year's London Marathon or if you have any questions relating to sight loss do  call the RNIB helpline on 0303 123 9999 or visit the RNIB website -https://www.rnib.org.uk
