Discussing Black Art w/ Ella Ray (June 2019)

DJ Am Bush is joined by Ella Ray, the Community Partnerships Coordinator at the Portland Art Museum. Ella Ray informs us not only about the art world through her own lens but how it can and should be perceived through the black lense. Coming from the museum and academic world she talks about how those from that space can come together with those from outside the space and bridge the gap between the two. As well as how to continue doing the work of uplifting and highlighting black and brown people in the arts within the community, letting us know it starts within the simplistic things and traditions, art is within us all.
