He is a member of the Oceania Chondrichthyan Society, based in Australia, which facilitates the education, conservation and scientific research of Chondrichthyan fishes, a group that covers sharks, skates, rays and chimaeras.
Also a forensic investigator with the GSAF (Global Shark Attack File), assisting with the study of bite marks when a shark attack occurs world-wide.
