Nick De La Torre (00:35.138)
Yeah.

Corry (Silk) (01:07.647)
Boys and girls, ladies and gents, dogs and cats, birds and fish. Welcome to another Stady Miguel, it's your boy Corey.

Dan Thompson (01:20.787)
It's Dan.

Corry (Silk) (01:22.483)
Same corner. No two five today.

Nick De La Torre (01:22.934)
and delatory. the... left out the B's. No 2-5. 2-5. A. Triple A tackled him in the backfield.

Corry (Silk) (01:34.027)
It happens, man. I had to deal with AAA and roadside service last week. Sometimes those times and ETAs they give you be egregious, But same corner, one hour later. We appreciate everybody for hanging out with us. Make sure y'all like, subscribe. We're gonna have some fun. We got quite the docket, man. How y'all boys weekend? Solid.

Nick De La Torre (01:38.478)
No.

Dan Thompson (01:58.282)
It was a good weekend, man. Gasparilla weekend here in Tampa.

Corry (Silk) (02:01.46)
Mm.

Dan Thompson (02:05.426)
always

Nick De La Torre (02:05.774)
As you get older and more mature, straying farther and farther away from past bender days, what does Gasparilla look like for a newly 37-year-old Danton?

Dan Thompson (02:18.878)
Yeah, no, so we, it was relatively low key this year, hung out, you know, where I live in Tampa, you have to participate or you have to stay inside or you have to leave. There's no way of getting around the city, right? So I'm sorry. Right. Yeah. So.

Nick De La Torre (02:22.892)
Mm.

Nick De La Torre (02:33.89)
Big bullying. Big bullying.

Dan Thompson (02:39.114)
so yeah, so went to a friend's house that lives over in Harbor Island. Then we walked in. if you've never been to Gasparilla, it's this mythical made up pirate, that invaded the city of Tampa years ago. This parade's been going on 121 years, I think. So they have this big pirate ship.

come through and dock and then they do this invasion of pirates and then there's a massive parade after. So we went and watched that and then we went back away from the crowd and then we went back to finish the end of the parade and then just kind of an easy kill or easy chill kind of day compared to what I've done in the past. Those days are beyond me. Can't do it anymore.

Nick De La Torre (03:28.268)
I believe in you. Not that I do, but I do believe in you.

Dan Thompson (03:31.72)
Yeah, man. Those days I've moved on. I've grown up. I might. Quiet. Can you hear me? OK. Yeah, so I never grow up. did that yesterday. Watched the football games. Brooks and Eagles fans that cheered them on. Could not hear on the bills. Did not want to cheer on the Chiefs either. So just rooted for for good football so.

Nick De La Torre (03:40.268)
Allegedly. Yeah, I can hear you. Never grow up, Peter Pan. Never grow up.

Nick De La Torre (03:58.572)
Yeah, Dolphins fan, like in my like fantasy football group, one of the guys is a Bills fan, like the entire, there's like three or four Dolphins fans in the fantasy football group. And everyone was like, shout out to Joe, hey Joe, rooting for the Bills. And I was like, absolutely not. I was like, the Bills can go to hell. So can the Jets, so can the Patriots. I'm like, absolutely not. I will root for Patrick Mahomes to win the next 17 AFC championships if the Bills are playing against him.

Corry (Silk) (04:12.895)
Hmm.

Nick De La Torre (04:28.576)
Nothing, no respect, no love. Also, I feel like Mitch Trubisky was so bad that we overlook that when the Bills had Tyrod Taylor as their quarterback, they traded a draft pick to Kansas City, which Kansas City then used for Patrick Mahomes.

Dan Thompson (04:41.534)
Mm-hmm.

Dan Thompson (04:48.84)
I mean, I think the quarterback situation's kind of worked out for Buffalo in the meantime. Like, I mean, obviously not Patrick Mahomes, but.

Nick De La Torre (04:53.23)
Has it? Because one guy's got a couple of rings and the other guy's just got long hair and lives essentially in Canada.

Dan Thompson (05:00.074)
Essentially. Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't blame it on Josh Allen yesterday, but you know, it's we don't ever root for the bills.

Nick De La Torre (05:07.114)
No, no, but I also don't like how differently we treat Lamar and Josh. Yesterday it was all, man, they gotta get Josh some help. man, if Josh just had some help, there's a fantastic offensive line. James Cokes are great, great running back. You also chose Keon Coleman instead of Xavier Worley who torched you yesterday. And then when Lamar loses, it's like, yep, see?

Dan Thompson (05:28.353)
yeah, yeah.

Nick De La Torre (05:34.924)
That kind of backyard football is never gonna win a Super Bowl and say, why are we treating these two guys differently when they lose?

Dan Thompson (05:38.378)
Nick, I can't help but think that there's probably an underlying reason that I am not supportive of.

Nick De La Torre (05:45.462)
Hmm. I don't like it. I don't like the way that we talk differently about Lamar when he loses. And then, you know, yesterday it's, yesterday, yeah, yesterday it's all like, hmm, man, feel bad for Josh. Wish he had more talent around him. Shut up.

Dan Thompson (05:48.584)
Good.

Corry (Silk) (05:49.437)
You want full Ryan Clark, huh?

You

Dan Thompson (06:02.44)
Yeah, no shout out to Lamar Jackson, big fan.

Corry (Silk) (06:02.591)
I think both guys have a lot of talent around them. think they got to find a way to win and get over this hump. This is my home's hump right now. My home's is just the Brady of this era. But to me, both guys got to find a way. They had players around them that kind of let them down, but I thought both could perform a little bit better. And it just comes with the job, bruh. know, like I like to be hard on Lamar Jackson just because that's what comes with the quarterback position, you know.

Nick De La Torre (06:06.091)
MVP.

Dan Thompson (06:14.632)
Mm-hmm.

Dan Thompson (06:26.503)
Yep.

Corry (Silk) (06:31.237)
I think he's a more talented quarterback, but let it all play out. Maybe my home's letting them win one soon.

Dan Thompson (06:39.21)
I think it's, I think it's just very, yeah, I think it's hard to win in the NFL. I think it's hard to win in any league and I think it's hard to blame it on one player. think that the

Corry (Silk) (06:42.419)
Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (06:46.67)
Hmm.

Nick De La Torre (06:52.58)
wait, sorry, Gators wanted to let me know that I forgot that it was tennis and Josh and Lamar played solo. It wasn't that the Bills beat the Ravens, it was just my bad, sorry.

Corry (Silk) (06:57.747)
Ha ha ha.

Dan Thompson (06:59.026)
Yeah. So, but I mean, that's the thing too. Yeah. Yeah. But, but I think that there's, you know, it falls on everybody winter loss, right? Sometimes it works out in your favor. Sometimes it doesn't. I certainly, some of the play calls, you know, their tush push certainly isn't as effective as Philadelphia's tush push. Right. And at that point you're like, okay, maybe this isn't working out. I remember back in the day when they used to run I formation when it was fourth and one.

Corry (Silk) (07:16.575)
We gotta get rid of the tush push.

Dan Thompson (07:26.44)
and get those big bruisers, get a William Perry out there, you know, but those days. Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (07:31.15)
Give me a full back, baby. Salt of the Earth people. Talk about CTE. What a position. Hey, we need you to just go slam your head into somebody so this other guy can score a touchdown. You got it, coach.

Corry (Silk) (07:41.887)
for a lead minimum.

Dan Thompson (07:46.346)
You have for a league minimum and about four roster spots in the NFL right now, right?

Nick De La Torre (07:46.602)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the back fan league minimum was like 100,000.

Corry (Silk) (07:52.255)
Yeah, carpenter salary. Yeah.

Dan Thompson (07:56.368)
Maybe even less than that, man. I think the Dolphins have a fullback, so shout out to old school football, Mike McDaniel.

Corry (Silk) (08:02.451)
Hey man, I know we talking NFL, but my Jags are back.

Nick De La Torre (08:04.994)
Gosh, we are disaster.

Dan Thompson (08:08.635)
No, they're not.

Nick De La Torre (08:09.102)
Did you hear Liam Cohen's do ball?

Corry (Silk) (08:10.109)
He gave, that was a gentrified Duval. He gave a regular Duval before he like, he got to commercialize it before he went public. But when he first got in the building, he gave us a good strong Duval. And then when he got to the presser, it was Duval.

Nick De La Torre (08:14.96)
my god.

Corry (Silk) (08:26.944)
Ha ha.

Dan Thompson (08:28.552)
Yeah. Do you, do you think he like drove around the city in between? then he's like, man. My excitement has that that's the story. I would love to see an actual 30 for 30 on that. Cause there was all sorts of rumors coming out about where he was, where he wasn't, you know, his child being in the, in the doctor's office, his wife had a post, picture of his child at the doctor's office, the whole thing.

Corry (Silk) (08:32.349)
Yeah.

They gave him the Minecraft tour.

Corry (Silk) (08:44.285)
La Dramma.

Corry (Silk) (08:51.295)
Porky. Yeah.

Dan Thompson (08:57.654)
It would be a great, maybe not a 30 for 30, but maybe one of those ESPN shorts they do during the NFL season.

Corry (Silk) (09:01.767)
I love it. The word is that, you know, he was in Jacksonville and then he drove back home to Tampa and he just realized that Jacksonville was a much better city. He was just like, bruh, I need... You think?

Nick De La Torre (09:02.618)
you

Dan Thompson (09:12.798)
Nah, I don't think so, Corey. think that the 40 or $50 million difference in contract, you'll listen. mean, I hope for, for them and for him, there's just not a lot to cheer about in the city of Jacksonville. So I hope the Jaguars have found their coach long-term and, know, somebody that's able to develop Trevor Lawrence. And, you know, obviously I don't want teams to be bad and here's enough bad stuff there.

Corry (Silk) (09:26.399)
We got it.

Corry (Silk) (09:35.665)
No, things are on the up in Jacksonville, man. We got bigger problems with our owner, but shot to Cohen. Cohen said, no, the first time we got general manager fire, we get Cohen back in the town. Now we may get some good, you know, play calling and offense and talent acquisition going on. We'll see, man. Much needed in Duvall,

Nick De La Torre (09:39.062)
Thank you.

Nick De La Torre (09:48.75)
Hmm

Dan Thompson (09:55.603)
Yeah, I mean.

Nick De La Torre (09:56.447)
So you would say like the team slogan for the Jaguars is no doesn't mean no?

Dan Thompson (10:01.744)
Wow. I wouldn't go and record-tane that, Corey.

Corry (Silk) (10:03.269)
I'm not confirming or denying that, man. Trying to stay uncancelled on these streets.

Nick De La Torre (10:03.598)
Is that what you said?

Nick De La Torre (10:09.74)
Okay, we'll let you.

Maybe, maybe Trevor Lawrence just isn't who we thought he was.

Corry (Silk) (10:17.887)
That's been crossing my mind a little bit. It's not in the quarterback draft to really try to find his replacement. I tell you that, just wait a couple more years. Either Arch Manny or DJ Lagway type of guy, then we probably could tank, try to get a quarterback. But yeah, Trevor Lawrence not being the guy has crossed my mind plenty of times, brother.

Nick De La Torre (10:26.082)
No.

Nick De La Torre (10:29.53)
No.

Dan Thompson (10:37.706)
Mmm.

Nick De La Torre (10:43.758)
So like, you lowercase the H in him? What's the process of losing him status?

Corry (Silk) (10:46.279)
Hey man, nevermind man, let's move on. Enough of my Jags. Enough of my Jags.

Dan Thompson (10:52.648)
Yeah, it's in a Jacksonville podcast. Unfortunately, unfortunately.

Nick De La Torre (10:55.522)
Sorry, sorry, sorry. Listen, it's good, sit. It's stones and glass houses. We've got mashed pettua. Lord knows what the dolphins are gonna look like next year.

Corry (Silk) (11:00.192)
You

Dan Thompson (11:06.27)
Yeah, I mean, all of your problems that exist in Jacksonville exist in Miami. We just have better jerseys, you know? Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (11:10.744)
We just have different problems. We just have different problems. Significantly. Y'all need to go back to the 90s, the 90s uniforms.

Corry (Silk) (11:13.235)
debatable.

Corry (Silk) (11:17.353)
That till and black hit, bro. I like our color scheme. It hits. Like sometimes we put a funky combination together, but when they figure out the right combo, the black and till, all black, the all till, it hits.

Dan Thompson (11:28.456)
Yeah, no, it works. I I like, I like those old Fred Taylor journeys. Nick doesn't cause Nick doesn't think those colors should be in the Pro Bowl for Fred Taylor, but I, do. Yeah. Fred Taylor texted him. That interesting. He said, very, very interesting. Very interesting.

Corry (Silk) (11:34.951)
Woo, man, I got some texts about that, bro. I forgot to share them to the chat.

Nick De La Torre (11:40.27)
Okay, I like that Gators Gators he Gators said he's still better than turned the ball over. like mash I like mash, but to a

Corry (Silk) (11:48.393)
Turn the ball over.

Dan Thompson (11:49.906)
Yeah. And then Justin, shout out Justin, man. Every city is better than Tampa. I don't know if you're talking about the world, the United States, the state of Florida, provide some more commentary. Would love to, to hear more about that, but, let's get into the show. Shall we? got some, some news, Nick, are we allowed to break the news that you texted or no.

Corry (Silk) (12:08.073)
What did he text? Hold on.

Nick De La Torre (12:11.086)
Yeah, let's cross the people. Cross-reference that.

Dan Thompson (12:15.496)
All right. Yeah, you cross reference that and then let's get in. Yeah. All right. Corey, why don't you do a quick read for Brent Insurance and we'll get on to the show.

Corry (Silk) (12:17.273)
okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I see the news for sure.

Corry (Silk) (12:27.167)

Nick De La Torre (13:12.238)
Greg, what to do, baby?

Dan Thompson (13:15.482)
Perfect. All right, guys. Big news over the weekend. The Gators moved quickly on an interview to a hire. They announced that Vinny Sonseri, son of coach Sonseri that coached at Florida for South Sonseri for what one one year? So, yeah, I think before he went back to Alabama, but Vinny Sonseri, former safety at the University of Alabama, Sal actually went and coached him over there. But he's going to be

Nick De La Torre (13:32.622)
I'm not sure if it was one or two, but yeah.

Dan Thompson (13:45.162)
Joining uf as the safety's coach and co-defensive coordinator He spent just last year at the University of Washington Three are the three years previous to that. He was The running backs coach for the New England Patriots under bill Belichick He was a defensive coaching assistant with the Patriots and a graduate assistant at Alabama in 2020 and 2019

Gentlemen, maybe not the name folks had wanted or expected out of that co-defensive coordinator position. Obviously Austin Armstrong left the program to become the defensive coordinator at University of Houston a few weeks ago. Gators had an open spot. Austin Armstrong also coached the safety position as well. again, maybe some Gator fans wanted some bigger names. Maybe they wanted some change at the overall defensive unit.

leadership position. I'll say this, and then I want to hear all your thoughts on Venice are about, Vinny Sincere. I don't think you make position coach hires. If you think you're on the verge of making a defensive coordinator change, cause those folks will want to bring on their own people. So, co-defensive coordinator, maybe a title to try to get him over, but, gentlemen, your thoughts.

Corry (Silk) (15:12.135)
I don't think none of our DCs have made any hires so far though. Like how many hires have they really made? We've changed DCs, but have they, any of them brought in their own crew yet?

Dan Thompson (15:27.282)
I don't think so because of the nature at the time that they've hired their DCs. And I don't know if.

Dan Thompson (15:40.183)
I don't know. the first go around, you kind of hired them all at the same time. So I don't know what his involvement.

Nick De La Torre (15:47.906)
First go around, you just brought Patrick Tony with you.

Dan Thompson (15:51.342)
Right. You brought Patrick Tony over and then you made hires. And I would assume that he was involved in that interview process. And then Patrick Tony left after the NFL season, probably after contract time. And I don't know if you could trust Austin Armstrong to make the changes or you say, Hey, this is what you're getting by being the linebackers coach at Alabama to come here. Right. And then Ron Roberts was after Jay Bateman left to go to Texas A

He got hired, so. I think timing's not worked out, but you make a valid point there.

Corry (Silk) (16:26.215)
Yeah, so.

Nick De La Torre (16:28.59)
Well, also Armstrong was 29 years old when he was hired. He turned 30 before the season, but it was not even 30.

Dan Thompson (16:34.248)
Yeah. Vinny Sincere is 33 years old for those keeping score.

Nick De La Torre (16:40.366)
33 that's that Celtic Shack?

Dan Thompson (16:44.683)
Celtic shack. would cream up to a job or is 33 to right. Or was he 32? That doesn't. Yeah. But Cory, Nick, Nick, what are your thoughts, Cory? I don't know if you're right in your thoughts.

Nick De La Torre (16:47.246)
You know we can go with can go with cream instead

Nick De La Torre (16:54.85)
Neither here nor there.

Nick De La Torre (17:00.608)
I think I was listening to Corey doing Logo Talk. It is a lot of young hires. This would, at least on the surface, signal or make me think, we're sticking with Ron. You probably, like you gave Austin the DC title to get him away from Alabama. He had literally just got to Alabama and only had the linebacker title.

went from DC at Southern Miss to just a linebackers coach, you give him a DC title at Florida, to get him over. I don't know that you, did you need to do that to get him into the series? Were you that enamored with him in the interview process that you're like, hey, let's do this? Who's going to call plays? I'm guessing it would still be the DC, the main DC?

Dan Thompson (17:50.942)
Do you think?

Dan Thompson (17:55.114)
Nick, Nick, I've got a question for you. Do you think there's maybe a clause in the contract that Florida might not have to do a buyout if you give like a different title or there's like a D.C. buyout?

Nick De La Torre (18:07.461)
No, a lot of the assistant coaches contracts have buyout terms, but I don't know a single assistant coach who doesn't have offsetting language in their contract. to make it easy, if Florida's paying somebody $100,000 and they fire him and the next place pays him $100,000, Florida doesn't owe that coach any money.

Dan Thompson (18:08.595)
No? Okay.

Dan Thompson (18:19.348)
Gotcha. OK.

Dan Thompson (18:30.62)
Right. I like that you used a hundred thousand dollars knowing how unrealistic it is that Florida pays anybody. 100 grand. Yeah. No, I, yeah.

Nick De La Torre (18:35.31)
It's a nice round number.

Corry (Silk) (18:39.249)
Yeah, I think these hires that he's making like Patrick Toney, Austin Ormscrum, Vinny Sinceria, I think all these guys are eventually going to be real good coaches. I just think we're reaching and hiring these guys that rose too early. I know some people are saying that, it's just a title. Somebody said it in the comments, but it's a little tricky, We're hiring people into rooms where you're bringing in somebody younger.

less experience on paper and they getting titles and roles over guys that are on the staff that have proven a little bit more, have more of an extensive resume. You can create a funky work environment in that instance. And I think that did create an atmosphere even when Austin Armstrong got the job and came on board. Just from what I know behind the scenes, think Bateman was one, allegedly, this is all parody. Bateman was a little offended.

It's a parody show. It's not real life. But Bateman wasn't really feeling that at that time. Right. Right. And that's the environment that you even bring in. Like I'm all for even nepotism in the right position. I just think right now is it looks on the surface like you're hiring younger friends, younger people that's in your network to come in and give them opportunities that they haven't quite deserved yet. And Florida's just not the job for that, bro.

Dan Thompson (19:37.034)
This is a parody show.

Dan Thompson (19:43.882)
Well, Corey Raymond wasn't either.

Corry (Silk) (20:05.731)
if you look at around the league, you look around college football, people with those titles have a real track record and experience, man. I think right now total of seasons, like per staff, I was just doing some math and just, you know, aligning us with Georgia. think Georgia has 48 seasons. Like powerful football seasons under their belt as a staff and Florida is half of that.

W-

Dan Thompson (20:37.172)
So, let's go research, Cory.

Corry (Silk) (20:38.761)
I had time this weekend, man. The highest is just like on my mind a little bit and in a lot of different capacity. I want to continue to talk about Sincerity, but in essence, he's replacing Austin Ormscroll, who was your safety guy. You give him the same exact role. I don't know if, like you probably upgraded because he, Vinny's played on the field before. He comes from that saving tree, but so did Austin Ormscroll. So just playing experience is probably what you got out of that. He probably knows the safety position a little bit better.

You're back to two defensive coaches. So I do like that part of it. But like I said, I just like, I don't like the inexperience. You got guys like Al Golden at DC spots in college football. You have Chip Kelly at an OC spot. You have Jim Nose at a DC spot. Older veteran guys that have been around college football that has a wealth of knowledge. And this is who you got to compete with. So.

Dan Thompson (21:36.786)
Yeah. I mean, you saw Penn State went and hired the defending national champions, defense coordinator to be their new defense coordinator, highest paid defense coordinator. That is a program that in my opinion wants to win. Will they? I don't know, but, but to me, they're showing the effort to do so. I'm not at all dogging Vinny Sonseri. I don't know. Right. He was in.

Corry (Silk) (21:56.009)
Right.

Dan Thompson (22:04.688)
Analyst, a graduate assistant for a year. Yeah, he's a graduate assistant. Then he was an offensive analyst and coach, right? Running backs coach for the Patriots. And then he spent one year coaching defense to then get the defensive coordinator title. I know he learned under his dad, who's probably one of the better offensive line coaches in the last 30 years. I definitely probably top 10. I know that he learned under Nick Saban. I know he was a hell of a ball player.

Nick De La Torre (22:07.5)
He's a Pizan!

Dan Thompson (22:35.326)
But when all of the news this off season is about how much money the Gators have, how much they're going to invest in the transfer portal, how much they're going to invest in the program. It's just, it leaves me wanting more. And maybe I didn't set my expectations to what that meant. And maybe I fell into the trap of things would be different when things are going to probably stay the same. And that's the way that I view it.

Corry (Silk) (22:59.271)
Yeah, especially after like hearing the name Musk Champ, right? That was kind of leaked out there to the people that they were interviewing and Musk Champ was interested in the job. So you go from Will Musk Champ possibly being your DC. And then it makes me also wonder if like something that you were speaking of hiring the DC, I don't know if he wanted to make overall changes and just fire a whole defense side of the ball because I don't think.

Uh, you hire a real must champion. He's just going to go with the crew. got over here. He's going to want to, he's going want to bring his guys in. So I just, it just leaves a lot of question marks in my mind of like, what's that process look like, but you can't go from must jump to trying to sell me Vinny's and Siri. I'm just not buying it, bro. Like if we're trying to compete with the best teams in college football and go win a national championship, these are not the highest you go make when you're trying to go win a Natty like experience everything on paper.

Dan Thompson (23:32.308)
Sure.

Corry (Silk) (23:54.855)
It ain't just about splash hires. It's about making the correct hires to elevate your play on the field. And so far this offseason, don't think we've done anything to elevate and improve from what we saw last year.

Dan Thompson (24:11.37)
Yeah. Hit that like button. Uh, no, think that you're a hundred percent right. appreciate you, uh, for, for saying that fragrance and then, Jim Knowles by himself is making half of our entire assistant coach budget. Did I see 3.1 million?

Corry (Silk) (24:23.295)
Yeah, big boy check. 10 million over three years. Yeah.

Dan Thompson (24:27.806)
That's, that's a, that's, that's a solid amount of money. but no core. think that you're, think, mean, that to me, no coach is a sure fire, right? You know, for the most part, there's, there's very few coaches ever in history that have translated completely from, one to another. I just, I just have questions.

Corry (Silk) (24:29.341)
Yo, they dead serious.

Dan Thompson (24:52.33)
Right. I don't know what the rest of the staff looks like and we'll find out. there's some contracts expiring in four days. I think there's going to be another hire to, you know what I mean? Uh, the parody show though. You know what I mean? I think there's going to be some changes, but, but I'm curious to see how those are handled. Right. So I'm going to give this one an incomplete right now. Cause I don't know what the rest looks like and maybe they bring in a fantastic edge coach, right. And somebody that can really add to that room or, know, really try to make the,

Corry (Silk) (24:59.737)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Dan Thompson (25:22.494)
defense better, should there be a departure or another departure? What does that look like? So to me, the staff is still incomplete. So the grades incomplete, but right now we're not trending in the direction that all the insiders and everybody was told that this off season would go or told it was going be a little bit different. And I just, I'm not seeing a lot different, not trying to be negative, just my, my, see what they see.

Corry (Silk) (25:42.687)
You just gotta call it playing.

Yep.

Nick De La Torre (25:49.048)
Well, the staff's complete.

Dan Thompson (25:51.7)
Ahem.

Nick De La Torre (25:52.475)
on paper you have staff complete. As the company line goes, there now is no position to fill.

Dan Thompson (25:57.402)
No, I did there. are no open. There are no positions open. That's right. Yeah, the line can end there are no current positions open in Florida has a full coaching staff.

Corry (Silk) (26:04.093)
Well, yeah, we got contracts that are due to expire though, they haven't been renewed.

Nick De La Torre (26:11.886)
Yeah, but like, so that's a decision that can be a handshake agreement. Like, hey, we're going to keep you, we're going to get you an extension. And then Billy would go to Scott and be like, hey, we're bringing back so and so. And the coaches are not going to not show up to work until they have a signed contract that's been read over by the lawyers. like, all right, cool. Yeah, that works. I agree to those terms. Let's get back out on the recruiting drill.

Corry (Silk) (26:36.467)
Yeah, we, we got to them an incompletion until like everybody's kind of signed up and then we can give our full opinion of the staff as in intact, you know, and then we know all the coaching moves are kind of finalized and we still got a general manager. I think we keep like, we just saying if everything stays intact, everything won't stay intact. That's my take. So if, if, if what is on paper right now stays, I don't think we keep Will Harris and maybe another

Nick De La Torre (26:42.062)
Cough

Corry (Silk) (27:04.265)
coach on the defensive side of the board. It's a parody show, that's, those are like strong opinions on my end and that Will Harris won't stick if Ron Robert sticks.

Nick De La Torre (27:11.03)
Thank

Nick De La Torre (27:18.688)
strong, pre-dict opinions.

Corry (Silk) (27:21.385)
So I don't think we're done regardless.

Dan Thompson (27:23.016)
Hmm. All right. mean, that's yeah. No, I don't think we're done. You know, you got to lift the hat here. Give a little wink. I think that I do think that there's more changes. I don't know if all of those changes will make Gator fans happy. I don't know what the blowback could be. I just look at where we're at now and I don't know if today Florida is in a better.

Corry (Silk) (27:28.873)
Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (27:37.614)
Thank

Dan Thompson (27:53.044)
position to compete for a national champion, heck, heck, even compete for the SEC championship today than they were two months ago. And that's how you have to evaluate your offseason.

You have some good talent.

Nick De La Torre (28:09.07)
Playoff team did. Playoff team did.

Dan Thompson (28:13.128)
Well, if you're playing for the SEC Championship, you're probably in the playoff.

Corry (Silk) (28:17.437)
Yeah.

Dan Thompson (28:20.468)
I left him speechless.

Nick De La Torre (28:21.198)
You could do the Ohio State route. I remember posting this to Twitter.

Dan Thompson (28:27.794)
Yeah, I think Florida's gonna go and tamper with, what was his running backs name from Ole Miss and get him over there to be the backup running back. Yeah, Duncans, yeah.

Nick De La Torre (28:30.894)
Cough

Corry (Silk) (28:34.109)
Judkins.

Nick De La Torre (28:36.942)
quinch on quinch on juggies and that was wild well well compensated very well compensated stop playing with these kids go play with people your own size

Corry (Silk) (28:38.548)
What an animal. Yeah, what a, I'm so glad he's going pro. He needs to go do grown folks things, man. Yeah. It's tiny. Yeah, for sure, man.

Corry (Silk) (28:53.566)
Yeah, I don't know what to wait for. Like we're so patient and so slow methodical, like all these programs in football season, they just go snatching, poaching big boy coordinators and we're taking our time to get Jacksonville State's new defensive coordinator. I just don't get it, man. I don't want to key harp it on, but I just don't understand any of it.

Dan Thompson (29:13.29)
yeah, I forgot to mention that he was at Jacksonville State for a couple of weeks. What an upgrade, though, no offense to Jacksonville, Alabama. I'm sure it's better than Jacksonville, Florida, but Jacksonville, Alabama to Gainesville. That's a. Saved yourself is a good opportunity. I'd jump out in a heartbeat.

Corry (Silk) (29:26.937)
That's crazy.

Nick De La Torre (29:37.576)
Would you live in Jacksonville, Alabama before you lived in Jacksonville, Florida?

Dan Thompson (29:41.642)
I don't see myself doing that, no.

Corry (Silk) (29:43.967)
Anybody that was living in Alabama on purpose is crazy. If you don't work for the Crimson Tide, then you probably should.

Dan Thompson (29:51.386)
I there's there's some great places in Alabama. Yeah, Mobile is beautiful. Tuscaloosa is beautiful. Mobile, I've not been to Mobile. I Birmingham, I've been to and Huntsville, both both nice little towns.

Nick De La Torre (29:53.661)
no.

Corry (Silk) (29:56.479)
I'm pretty sure.

Nick De La Torre (30:05.262)
No, well first off Birmingham is the capital. It's like the biggest city in Alabama, I would yeah like still town still town. Yeah, I know I get it.

Corry (Silk) (30:08.575)
You

Dan Thompson (30:14.632)
Yeah, but I mean, Nick, you are correct that it is the capital. It's not a bustling metropolis of millions and millions of people like.

Nick De La Torre (30:20.75)
I think I was saying, I think I was adding context. was not saying you were wrong. was adding context.

Dan Thompson (30:26.888)
I mean, it's smaller than Fort Lauderdale.

You're like just city proper. You know what I mean? So anyway, shout out to Alabama. No disrespect on this show from your old pal Dan, but that's what I think when I think of this program, I think of this off season. think of where Florida is at today versus where they are at six weeks ago, eight weeks ago. And I just don't, I I've not bought into what it looks like. We've talked about it on the show. have a two year window with DJ lagway.

Corry (Silk) (30:36.095)
You

Nick De La Torre (30:37.038)
you

Dan Thompson (31:00.144)
Is Florida in a better position today to utilize those two years?

Corry (Silk) (31:05.779)
We haven't changed anything, so I don't know what our position would change.

Dan Thompson (31:07.604)
I don't know, Yeah, I I thought there was going to be people begging in the transfer portal to come pay with DJ Lagway. I assured that it wasn't just J. Michael Sturtevant because nobody had heard of him before. I was told that there'd be people knocking down the door. And were they knocking down the door and we didn't answer or?

Corry (Silk) (31:27.263)
You gotta answer it.

Dan Thompson (31:34.334)
I don't know. I think we got good talent. I think we got good players.

Nick De La Torre (31:35.81)
Whoa, who were like the big outside of Zachariah Branch who was a package deal with his brother? Allegedly, allegedly, that's illegal. It's illegal.

Dan Thompson (31:42.632)
Nick, you go tamper. That's what you do. You go tamper. You go find the people. No, you do it. I don't care. I'm not on staff. It's not it's not illegal. Miami just did it and nothing's going to happen. Ohio State did it. Alabama did it. We've done it. Come on. Yeah, we got players on our roster right now. Nick. I think a parody show. Everything is parody. Yeah.

Corry (Silk) (31:48.967)
This is a parody show too.

Nick De La Torre (31:52.167)
It's illegal.

Corry (Silk) (31:59.315)
We've definitely done it.

Allegedly, this is a parody show.

Nick De La Torre (32:04.62)
Whoa, whoa, allegedly, allegedly. Or would never. And you shouldn't.

Corry (Silk) (32:11.615)
Yeah, I just don't, I'm just not seeing it, man. It's a two year window and I'm gonna enjoy this two years, right? I'ma lie. I'ma get my takes off, bruh. Like I'ma enjoy the football. It's gonna be fun because DJ Laiway is gonna make it exciting. But I don't foresee us winning, you know, and reaching our potential with what we got intact.

Do I think we're going to go win some football games to have a good football team? Yes. I think we could continue the trend of how the season end. But when I started looking at the teams that ended playoffs that are making runs, we're not, we're not there yet. You know, and I don't know how long it's going to take Billy to get to being a coach that well tuned and locked in. It's just like our staff is a big gap from what we're seeing on television, you know, in 2025 in the playoffs, what we saw. We just not that close, man. And I was hoping.

You know, this off season with contracts ending, you know, supposedly Billy Bob bread for the transfer portal where we could grab a few little kids to make a run here because the opportunities right there in front of us. But if we're not careful and if this staff and things don't change drastically between last the way to fall ending and waiting and starting the next fall, like we could very easily be Florida state in two years after DJ Lackaway leave. That's my overall take.

Dan Thompson (33:37.596)
Yeah, I hope not. And I think that Florida's recruited a bit better than them to be able to avoid that, right? And hopefully, you know, some of the guys that got through the transfer portal, they've seen to recruit, obviously they have not all made it to campus. They seem to recruit the quarterback position really well. I have some question marks about Florida's 20s-26 quarterback commit, but I'm not gonna let him catch strays on this show.

You know, but I'm curious about their activity in 27 to I think they're missing on a couple big guys But I think that Billy Napier has proved that he can get some some pretty decent quarterbacks to campus I think they recruit better. I think they've developed talent better I don't think it's all mixed well as Well as it could and I hope to see changes and improvement there but I don't know if I see as deep of a fall-off, but I mean

He is a 19 and 19 head coach. can't say that it's not implausible. I just, know we're, we're not making the moves that I think other schools would make with a two year window. And maybe we're all wrong. Maybe they just are very, happy with who they have, but

Corry (Silk) (34:43.803)
Nah, they should have went in on certain free agents. You got a window with a special talent. they do recruit the quarterback position well, but they're not recruiting generational quarterbacks or special quarterbacks every single time. They just recruiting the quarterback position good.

I think this staff with the way they play call the offense is you need somebody to elevate that play calling, not just be a good quarterback. You need somebody to be special for this thing to make a run. then how long do you keep recruits believing in this storyline? Like after the DJ Lagway leave and you got Superman on campus and he don't really hit anything big with Lagway? And what are you selling to the next group of kids?

Dan Thompson (35:06.335)
Mm-hmm.

Dan Thompson (35:35.486)
Yeah. You know, but I think that's a future problem for future Stadium and Gale to worry about. You know, when we're near seven and a half of the show.

Corry (Silk) (35:39.135)
for sure.

Nick De La Torre (35:43.566)
I'm just like, I'm... Yeah, I'm just going like, who were the, what were the misses though?

Corry (Silk) (35:50.45)
I mean.

Dan Thompson (35:53.012)
You have to have me pulling up the strength of a portal.

Nick De La Torre (35:54.104)
Like who were the big, like last year in the portal you had like Evan Turner, you had the big, Ole Miss, you had the big Texanip Exodus, you had the big Ole Miss Exodus with Quinchon. There were some massive names, like think Zachariah Branch, Carson Beck were like big names. But like maybe it's just me, there weren't like.

Dan Thompson (36:01.948)
You have the same day.

Dan Thompson (36:18.85)
Nick De La Torre (36:21.102)
the same kind of names, just Dan Keeve is kind of big name.

Corry (Silk) (36:22.309)
I could go down it.

Dan Thompson (36:24.242)
Yeah. I mean, last year he missed on that offensive tackle that went to Ohio state, obviously worked out for him. Yeah. I mean, I, the, the depth chart here certainly wasn't, as deep, you know, as they've, they've been in the past and maybe they didn't need, you know, some of that talent, but also I know that some of that talent doesn't just enter, with no place to go either. So

Nick De La Torre (36:34.175)
Nick Anderson.

Corry (Silk) (36:48.509)
I thought the Nick Anderson kid out of Oklahoma could have been a big piece. was several receivers that came out. I thought we needed at least two, I thought we needed two receivers, right? Would have liked to get him. You had guys, what's the defensive tackle that from North Carolina that we missed on? He ended up going out to USC. I thought we could have used him.

Dan Thompson (36:55.018)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (36:57.006)
Mm-hmm.

Dan Thompson (36:59.668)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (37:12.556)
Yeah, think you still, yes. But yeah, but that's also like, my guy's on his fourth school.

Dan Thompson (37:13.041)
Q-Shan silver.

Corry (Silk) (37:13.213)
Correct. Correct.

Corry (Silk) (37:20.287)
That's just part of the business now.

Dan Thompson (37:23.018)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (37:23.639)
That

Dan Thompson (37:26.419)
Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (37:26.446)
I don't like that business. don't like that business. You're just, you're not buying a car, you're leasing a car.

Dan Thompson (37:29.354)
Ahem.

Dan Thompson (37:34.28)
Yeah. I mean, you also didn't get involved with some of these guys that are bigger names, right? Corey mentioned Nick Anderson. You didn't get involved with Dane Key. You definitely need help there. You didn't get involved with. Marion Brown. You didn't get involved with, you know, a number of names just kind of scrolling down here. You didn't really bring any offensive linemen.

Corry (Silk) (37:49.023)
Yeah, they're Eric Rivers kid. Yeah. Yeah.

Dan Thompson (38:02.17)
on campus and there's some highly ranked offensive linemen and listen, they get paid to evaluate talent and I get paid by Brent insurance and alumni hall. However,

Nick De La Torre (38:14.828)
to be a parody.

Dan Thompson (38:16.52)
Right. We're a parody show, but I, I don't know. I, and maybe, right. And this is a take two, right? Like maybe there wasn't an opportunity to get better. I just look at Florida right now. And I don't think after watching the playoffs, the exhaustive playoff rounds that Florida is in a better position today than they were six weeks ago. And maybe that's just the way the cookie crumbled.

Corry (Silk) (38:39.613)
Yeah. I don't think we need, and I'm still on the, right, you need six to eight players if you're doing this thing right annually in the portal. It's just with certain pieces that you gotta go grab to just make a run. know, like we don't expect them to go, I think bringing those guys back, Slaughter, you bring back Kayla Banks, you bring back Sap, those are good bringbacks. Like I wanna give them flowers for like being there to keep those kids in the fold.

Uh, the instrumental pieces to the success we had last season, they're to be same thing. This upcoming season, those guys are important. But for us to get over that hump and to go make a run with a player like that, I'm thinking you need to go grab another proven receiver to go in that room. You know, I liked Jay Michael. think he's solid, but, uh, I don't think he's special, you know, to, to elevate that room. Um, and there were some guys, you know, in state that I thought, I'm going to stay on it. The Nick.

Dan Thompson (39:27.786)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (39:32.11)
.

Corry (Silk) (39:38.175)
the dude from Oklahoma, like I Anderson, I think he's going to be a special talent. We didn't even get him on campus because right at the gate, the price tag was kind of heavy. And that's unfortunate, you know, from my mind, I'm just like, nah, we need to go get that kid. When we started the portal, we all said that we wanted another tackle. And we even got a tackle on campus for a visit, you know, like it's been a lot of tackle movement, you know, it's been some starters from other.

Dan Thompson (39:41.757)
Nick Anderson.

Corry (Silk) (40:07.263)
proven teams that hit the portal and we didn't even get in on it. Do they, do they may believe in this roster? You know, they may believe in the kids on campus and they also believed in a lot of kids last year and was wrong. So it's like.

You didn't have to go heavy, but I thought it was more pieces that we could have got. I J. Michael Sturdevant is the only kid that's gonna come and probably start. Everybody else is just dead pieces.

Dan Thompson (40:35.594)
Well, yeah, the punter will start. But yeah, no, you're right. I don't remember his name. But no, I think you're 100 % right. You know, on that, and I think there was a lot of slow playing. I think you missed out on the NC State transfers. Obviously, there was some weather issues. But you did lose out on that, right? And things are going to happen.

Nick De La Torre (40:49.006)
We do? With your bunny?

Corry (Silk) (40:52.359)
It wasn't weather buddy. It was that bad.

Dan Thompson (40:59.21)
Oh, well, I was told we had money, but shout out to Florida victorious. They're, they're doing a great job. They're doing a great, no, I, I, I do. I know I'm not, I'm not at all saying that Florida Victoria doesn't have money. I was just told we were going to spend money. We did spend money and listen. Right. Florida did retain a lot of players that if Florida got that caliber of player in the transfer portal, it's a completely different conversation. I totally get that, but I still think Florida has.

Corry (Silk) (41:03.037)
You got it? It's like, it's like the...

Corry (Silk) (41:13.491)
That's the difference.

Nick De La Torre (41:14.478)
We spent money on retention.

Dan Thompson (41:28.884)
pieces that are

Corry (Silk) (41:35.711)
Nothing's negative. no, this is just like conversation is just, you know, important. General manager is another one. Whatever they want to entitle that position. I don't know what they want to call it. I know J.K. LeFere is general manager and title, but.

Dan Thompson (41:38.056)
I don't want to be negative on today's show. know, I feel like I am sorry, good. Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (41:54.693)
Jacob what? Jacob... Jacob Mafferi?

Corry (Silk) (41:54.877)
Le France Le Faire Le Faire my bad bro.

Dan Thompson (41:55.508)
France.

Corry (Silk) (41:59.249)
I LeFaire, my bad. But LeFrance, man, didn't mean to butcher your name, my boy. Yeah, didn't mean to butcher your name, my boy. Jacob LeFrance is a general manager in title, but he's looking around the country. It's some big boy checks that's going out for real deal general managers. And I wanna see how aggressive we are with paying somebody with experience to come in in that role. I was told that Jim Nagy is a guy to interview.

Dan Thompson (42:02.186)
the fair. No, Jacob, what price? Yeah. Nick, there's 971 staffers. Can't remember them all.

Nick De La Torre (42:03.721)
Nick De La Torre (42:08.044)
Yeah.

Corry (Silk) (42:26.377)
who's interested in the job, but not for what they trying to pay the job. Jim Nagy is a very experienced dude when it comes to talent evaluation. Like his experience with the senior bowl, if you're not familiar with the re senior bowl, like he's just an absolute legend and he knows his stuff, man. But you gotta pay guys like that, bruh. That's just what it is, bruh. And rebrand somebody, we give them a couple hundred thousand dollars just to count the money.

Nick De La Torre (42:38.478)
you

Dan Thompson (42:40.585)
Yeah?

Corry (Silk) (43:01.224)
I could count the money.

Nick De La Torre (43:04.462)
I think that role will be like vice president of football operations.

Just title.

Dan Thompson (43:14.036)
Let's see. Did you know Jim Nagy won four Super Bowls?

Corry (Silk) (43:20.081)
Yeah, he's low key interviewing for some, or trying to, know, his name's been thrown around into some NFL general manager conversations, like for sure.

Nick De La Torre (43:21.432)
Yep.

Dan Thompson (43:22.472)
He played in six of them.

Nick De La Torre (43:28.206)
you

Yes.

Dan Thompson (43:33.162)
Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, Jim Nagy, if you're not familiar is the, uh, executive director of the RISI senior bowl. Uh, he was a regional scout with the Seahawks, a national scout with the chiefs, a regional scout with the Patriots and a regional scout with the Washington, uh, commanders. Um, a hell of a resume. I'd be solid. Can I take them?

Nick De La Torre (43:38.082)
Cool.

Corry (Silk) (43:52.723)
You got chip in, what you got on it?

Who's on the dollar bills,

Dan Thompson (43:58.474)
I got some dollars. How many dollars does he need, Yeah, I got some money. I got some money. But yeah, so that's where Florida's at. So still don't have the vice president of football operations or whatever the actual job title is. We mentioned a couple of weeks ago, some of the names that have been interviewing, there was an expected decision by the end of January. So we are four days away.

Corry (Silk) (44:04.156)
Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (44:05.742)
You

Dan Thompson (44:27.272)
three days if you're listening on your podcast app until the end of January. Knowing what I know, I don't expect that decision to be made by January the 31st.

Corry (Silk) (44:36.543)
Mmm.

There's a pork meat going down Friday, man. And it's going to be about this general manager position and also Ron Roberts. I don't think that's set in stone. We'll see how it all plays out. One of the things going forward is just football, being a head coach is not the easiest thing in the world. You got to be able to balance the fans, media, boosters, recruiting, know, strengthening everything. It's a big job. And if you start to lose booster support, you're going to lose recruiting.

that's who's paying the recruits. So all of that's important to becoming a successful head coach is being able to manage relationships when it pertains to boosters and of course coaches and all of that stuff. But it's an important meeting that's going on Friday. We'll see if who's retained, who's not retained and if there's any staff changes being made. But as of now, no real additions to upgrade the staff have been made in my opinion.

Dan Thompson (45:10.953)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (45:39.534)
Well, like we need you

Dan Thompson (45:39.614)
Maybe we'll do a Friday pop up show, depending on Nick, you clear right into the microphone. lets me feel like I'm in your throat. no, you're fine.

Corry (Silk) (45:43.583)
You

Nick De La Torre (45:47.342)
Sorry. Well, my microphone's not working today, so we're doing the, hello, so we're doing the AirPods. Like I said, it's not, I feel like people are kind of waiting for, they're walking to the town square waiting for a public execution on Friday. But I already said it can just be a handshake, hey, we're gonna keep you on at the same salary as last year. All right, cool.

get on the plane and go to South Florida to go recruit. There's not going to be a press release or a leak or a tweet. yeah, yeah. Jimbo's Christmas tree is not going to be outside of somebody's lawn that a neighbor takes a picture of. I know we told you the contracts expire on

Dan Thompson (46:25.62)
You're not going to see the, you're not going to see the U-Haul truck right outside.

Nick De La Torre (46:46.006)
January 31st but like there's not like a counting down timer to a fireworks show on Friday.

Corry (Silk) (46:52.787)
You want to see the people riot? Let Will Harris leave. You want to see the people riot?

Dan Thompson (46:55.818)
I mean, what if there is, I mean, if.

Nick De La Torre (47:01.718)
Yes, yeah, that would be upsetting.

Corry (Silk) (47:03.327)
This is a parody show for sure.

Dan Thompson (47:04.858)
Allegedly.

Nick De La Torre (47:10.222)
That would be upsetting if Will Harris were to leave. I thought he was a great coach this year. Good recruiter too.

Dan Thompson (47:18.195)
Yeah. Young hip. Cool. So that's where we're at. So still waiting on news on Rob Sale, Mike Peterson.

Nick De La Torre (47:24.846)
You don't think Renice and Ceri's young, hip and cool?

Corry (Silk) (47:27.561)
Probably.

Dan Thompson (47:30.346)
I don't know. mean, I'm sure he's probably cool enough. Like it was a white safety like, yeah, a little slack.

Corry (Silk) (47:31.103)
Easy.

Yeah, he got a little sauce. I don't doubt that he's probably a good coach. It's just, know, title and role that they gave him. And he really don't have a recruiting track record to lean on. We just know he's a Bama guy, so we just expect, like, it to be contagious and on his skin. Like, he just could recruit just because he went there.

Nick De La Torre (47:40.682)
That's... You know the pig sticks on Johnny Menzel?

Dan Thompson (47:55.434)
Yeah. I mean, he just, he, he, he's obviously very talented player, went to the best college in the country. Coached for one season as a grad assistant at the university of Alabama, and then was in the NFL for the next four years. Went one year at Washington last year under Jed fish. Yeah. And the NFL is coaching running back. Yeah. But in, in I'm okay with that.

Nick De La Torre (47:58.584)
Buddy.

Corry (Silk) (48:11.795)
He was coaching running backs, by the way.

Nick De La Torre (48:17.622)
But he's a safety.

Dan Thompson (48:23.444)
You know, there's a spot on the NFL, like your job as a running backs coach is yes to teach running backs, also to understand what the running, the safeties are doing, how to read the defense and everything else. Right. Like, so I'm not as worried about that as much as I am. It's just another question mark that allows the Gator fan base to just continue to have an off season full of questions.

Nick De La Torre (48:47.451)
From relationship ribs to commitment cannolis.

Corry (Silk) (48:53.391)
It didn't really round third base.

Nick De La Torre (48:54.094)
I thought that was a lot better than it did. I I wasn't...

Dan Thompson (48:58.317)
Yeah, I don't know if it was like the right tenor of the show, you know what I mean? Like. Yeah.

Corry (Silk) (49:01.033)
Ha ha ha.

Nick De La Torre (49:02.4)
Volume shooter. Almost knocked. Pass me the rock, I will shoot again.

Dan Thompson (49:07.272)
Yeah. You'd like, anyway, so, so that's where we're at. just, you know, I think if he had a different last name also, it'd be entirely different, right? think this would be all completely different and you can't take that away from him, right? Like, yes, he has the name, but he also grew up under one of the best defensive line coaches in college football history. So I don't want to take that away from him, but if somebody had that, that background of experience with a different last name,

Nick De La Torre (49:17.43)
Yeah, yeah, I mean that's good point.

Dan Thompson (49:36.596)
that you weren't familiar with then.

I think that the tenor would be certainly a lot louder.

Corry (Silk) (49:40.751)
It's just the same hire, like Patrick Toney, Austin Norma-Schrone, and now just three very young guys that come from a certain coaching tree, but is an inexperienced man. Like it just screens of hiring friends. And we watched Dan Mullin do it, we watched McElwain do it, we watched coaches fail by keeping friends around. And it just seems more the same. The adjustment most fans wanted to see was

Billy Nade Pier mature and elevate his mindset and whatever it may be, coaching style, bring in some different, delegate a little bit, but it feels like we go young and inexperienced and that's the room that they want. Not a wealth of knowledge, but a wealth of just inexperience.

Dan Thompson (50:32.01)
So we will, we will see. are waiting on just a few, more decisions maybe by the end of the week. Maybe we'll have a better idea this time next week on what the Gators coaching staff, might look like, but, but that's where we're at. any additional thoughts? I there's a comment earlier about Steve Springer, Jr., former offensive coordinator at Tulsa got let go about him. know there's some news that maybe he's going to join the team as an analyst.

I know that he was also a target for some schools, for some wide receiver coach positions. So I don't know if that hire is official. I mean, I wouldn't put a ton of stock into it either way, but it's, it's good to have the old ball coaches son, you know, in Gainesville, just for nostalgia reasons. But again, I'm not putting too much stock in it one way or another. What?

Corry (Silk) (51:13.055)
A week of nepotism. A week of nepotism. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll allow that with me. I'll let that one slide. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, slide, slide, Steve some chicks. I'll allow that. I'll take his commitment now.

Dan Thompson (51:22.506)
Yeah, I feel like Steve deserves it. A little nepotism, you know. Yeah, I'll let that one slide. Is it off the field position? I'll let it slide. You know, you know, if we want to bring Kibo child in as an analyst, I'll take that too, you know.

Corry (Silk) (51:39.551)
Yeah, it's a boy.

Dan Thompson (51:42.537)
Do we know if it's a boy or a girl?

Corry (Silk) (51:46.629)
Are we covering, are we doing a gender reveal on stage Miguel? Tebow's gender reveal?

Dan Thompson (51:49.322)
Congratulations.

Nick De La Torre (51:53.102)
Honestly, your joke, but that would do numbers. That would do numbers.

Corry (Silk) (51:54.565)
It would go crazy. 100%.

Dan Thompson (51:59.081)
my god, yeah. we'd be on Good Morning America.

Nick De La Torre (52:02.254)
I believe that will, yeah, believe the gender reveal will probably be sold to someone like the USA or what's Us magazine or People magazine. Like the announcement was purchased by People.

Corry (Silk) (52:13.107)
Hmm. You think we could buy it? Yeah, I wouldn't buy it.

Dan Thompson (52:17.098)
That's gonna be nuts to live your life.

Nick De La Torre (52:18.638)
I strive to be that level of famous where it's like, ah man, wife's pregnant, guess we have to go get a bag from one of these magazines. Yeah.

Corry (Silk) (52:24.607)
People want to know the name of my kid. It's like a bag for everything too. Like the gender reveal, the name reveal, like everything's a shot of T-boy, he won in life.

Nick De La Torre (52:38.29)
You're just looking at your kid like, hey man, we need you to start walking. Mortgage is coming up. We're trying to some new furniture for the house, new car. We really need you to start walking.

Dan Thompson (52:44.323)
We need to get these first steps on camera.

Dan Thompson (52:52.258)
man. All right. Well, so that's where we're at. Vinny Sincere. We're waiting on some coaching decisions and Nick will continue to do his Italian thing. Let's give a quick shout out to our friends over at Game Time Sidekicks. You've seen these cups for years. You've seen them for months recently. Go visit them. Great cup. True story. I put

Corry (Silk) (53:12.11)
Bad boy.

Dan Thompson (53:19.08)
water, ice water in it on Sunday morning. And it was still there like six hours later, as fresh as could be.

Nick De La Torre (53:26.984)
That's on you, drink more water.

Dan Thompson (53:29.45)
Well, I did, I was running some errands. came back. I drank out of this whole circle thing. I'm not going to give them a shout out. Well, I just did, but not anymore. They're a client of mine in real life. So it's drinking that. Yeah. So, so that's where we're anyway, uh, great product. Uh, love everything about game time sidekicks. love, uh, the owner. love the product. I love the number of designs that you can have hot drinks, hot cold drinks, game time sidekicks.com use promo code stadium 15. You'll get 15%.

Nick De La Torre (53:40.248)
Shout out, no free shout out.

Dan Thompson (53:59.502)
Off of your order again, game time, sidekicks.com promo code stadium 15. We did not mention the orange and blue game last week. that has been announced for April the 12th at 1 PM. So make sure you're in gains where there's a lot of sports activity that day. If I remember correctly that they're, that they're building around, for that. again, the orange and blue game, orange, they still call it the orange and blue debut. I do, but yeah.

Nick De La Torre (54:27.424)
They don't, but I do. I still write it like that too.

Dan Thompson (54:29.994)
Well, it sounds better, you know, the orange and blue debut sounds cooler than the orange and blue game. It's not an alliteration. just a rhyme.

Corry (Silk) (54:35.087)
I will be there. See all seven plays. I'm gonna be hype and I'm gonna be lying, but I'm excited for the spring game. Haven't been excited for spring game in a long time. So I'll be in the venue for sure, hanging out.

Dan Thompson (54:43.914)
Thanks.

Corry (Silk) (54:50.899)
Yep.

Dan Thompson (54:51.216)
I will be, yeah, I will not be there. I will be in Mexico. But we're going to use this show as a quick fact check. Sure. We will. do want to issue a retraction on the show of a fact check on Montgomery is the capital of Alabama, not Birmingham. Birmingham is the largest city, I believe in Huntsville.

Nick De La Torre (54:51.49)
will smell your cologne.

Corry (Silk) (54:57.214)
Mmm.

Nick De La Torre (55:00.333)
Mmm.

flying over the Gulf of America.

Nick De La Torre (55:16.238)
Dan Thompson (55:20.762)
I know there's somebody listening from Huntsville. One of the other people that are listening or from mobile.

Nick De La Torre (55:24.399)
The person in Huntsville goes, yo, I'm in Huntsville right now catching strays. I just tapped in to hang out with the guys and all of a sudden I caught a right hook.

Dan Thompson (55:28.776)
Yeah, no, Huntsville, Huntsville is. Yeah. Yeah, no. shout out to, to Huntsville. Definitely leaving a one-star review for the Duval standard. Don't do that. that's, that's on me, right? Go to my Twitter, rank me one star on Twitter. don't do it for a show. It hurts the algorithms. It's all, it's all a joke, right? It's, it's absolutely a joke. I've had a great time in Jacksonville beach. It's, it's just.

Nick De La Torre (55:51.127)
Yeah.

Corry (Silk) (55:51.645)
I almost gave our own show one star when you said Jacksonville state in Alabama. Like Jacksonville was better than Jacksonville. It's like that's Florida slander right there. No, no, don't do Duval like that, man. Solid place to get a crab tray, man.

Nick De La Torre (56:02.124)
Might be. Might be.

Dan Thompson (56:07.39)
Yeah. So yeah. So want to do that. We're going to talk about Todd golden here in a second, but the news is leaked out. Nick. This was the news that we were going to talk about before. Dallas Wilson, is officially enrolled, at the university of Florida. Huntsville is the largest city in Alabama now. Okay. Well, so yeah, I will read up on my Almanac later today. Huntsville is a beautiful, it's got space program, all of that. So anyway,

Nick De La Torre (56:07.79)
Jacksonville is north enough that...

Corry (Silk) (56:12.031)
Crab choy.

Corry (Silk) (56:18.249)
We in, baby.

Corry (Silk) (56:27.241)
Hahaha

Nick De La Torre (56:27.436)
Listen, we are not an Alabama Fact Show, clearly.

Dan Thompson (56:36.84)
Dallas Wilson, five star wide receiver shows off the rails. need Jordan to keep us on track. five star wide receiver Dallas Wilson is officially enrolled. had to be enrolled by today. by the end of today, today, by the end of the day today to be in this class today is the last day of drop ads. So, Dallas Wilson, the drama is over and he will be, he's already in or on his way to gain. So right now, there was just a couple of final things to get done. So.

Nick De La Torre (56:37.165)
Mm.

Dan Thompson (57:06.451)
That is done, complete, and he is officially a student at the University of Florida.

Nick De La Torre (57:08.782)
Mm.

Corry (Silk) (57:10.845)
Yeah, so y'all can get out my DMs, man. I got a million DMs about Dallas Wilson and if he's gonna make it in. He's in. So shout out to that, man. Excited. Spring football is gonna be fireworks, man. We're gonna work the hell out of these seven plays.

Dan Thompson (57:29.577)
Maybe they'll have eight with Dallas Wilson. But that's obviously huge news. We had heard right as the show was starting that he was all set to go. But we wanted to get that double check fact checked and everything else, because obviously our fact checker isn't working today with the number of things that we've gotten wrong. All right, guys, let's do a quick shout out. want to shout out to a home field apparel, homefieldapparel.com promo code statement. Gail will get you a vintage shirts.

Nick De La Torre (57:38.094)
Bye.

Dan Thompson (57:57.77)
about 25 different designs for the university of Florida. Those baseball pullovers will be back in the next couple of weeks. So go check those out. so go visit homefield apparel.com use promo code stadium and Gale, get yourself a new shirt for the orange and blue game, and go visit them homefield apparel.com promo code stadium and Gale all one word. All right guys. big news, Todd golden.

has been officially cleared in his Title IX investigation regarding sexual harassment allegations, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment and stalking. The school released a statement earlier today that there was no evidence and it ended the investigation. The University of Florida takes these matters seriously and works deliberately to ensure that due process is upheld for everyone.

After a thorough investigation that included dozens of interviews over the past month, the university of Florida has found no evidence that Todd Golden violated Title IX. The Title IX office has closed their investigation. Todd Golden had previously said that he would respect the process and did not really speak on it. He did threaten legal action in that process as well.

Todd Golden earlier did say, I'm frustrated and disappointed at a Title IX mechanism that is created to protect both sides during a situation like this that confidentially, that confidentiality and privacy continue to be abused. And that was after the Tory and Green Title IX case. So that's where the Gators are at right now. Through his attorney, William Shepard, Coach Golden and I

have respected the process throughout while actively engaging with the university. However, there were many who did not respect the investigative process. Instead, they sought to target Coach Golden and drive their agenda in this investigation for their own self-interest. Some leaked confidential material to the media, falsely posed as a UF lawyer in an effort to intimidate, harassed UF students and parents trying to generate a false narrative, and harassed my family, or my client, his family, and his friends.

Nick De La Torre (59:47.726)
who did not represent and expect the investigative process.

Corry (Silk) (01:00:02.399)
Hmm.

Dan Thompson (01:00:11.466)
And it continued by saying that Todd Golden will consider all legal options in the off season. So no shortage of strong words from the attorney. And I think rightfully so. There is a couple of unnamed or there's a couple of named people that aren't even involved at the University of Florida whose names were thrown into the mix here. So ultimately a very sad story all around. Certainly we respect journalism.

Corry (Silk) (01:00:20.585)
Big words.

Dan Thompson (01:00:40.348)
here at the University of Florida. respect student journalists with the alligator and stories, but I also do respect the idea that these things are private for a reason and that we should not be dragging in names of people that not only were found not involved, but that the situation itself may not have existed. that's where we find ourselves with Todd Golden.

Corry (Silk) (01:01:04.927)
which is much needed just fresh relief from the team perspective. Cause I think like, just having these types of things linger over a team that can make a championship run could just be just unnecessary distractions. But there's just still some people out there that's, oh, he's guilty. Like some of y'all just weird, man. The feds investigated it. If the feds say he's good to go, then he's good to go, man. Let future Hendricks do his thing.

Nick De La Torre (01:01:08.255)
Yeah, it,

Dan Thompson (01:01:12.062)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (01:01:36.762)
Yeah, it's interesting because I think, know, at the time it was kind of, when it first happened, the time it was kind of like, look at these student journalists, like really good job. I always tell people, like I'm a sports writer, I'm not a journalist. Like journalists cover the White House or are in Ukraine covering war. Like there's actually serious

Corry (Silk) (01:01:58.185)
They cover sports too.

Nick De La Torre (01:02:02.894)
There's serious journalists. Sports is fun. Sports is fun. There's serious journalists. But part of what Todd was saying here, or what he said after Torrin Green became public was this is supposed to, Tyler Knight is supposed to be anonymous to protect both parties. Because a lot of what happens is when someone gets arrested and the report comes out, the story comes out.

That's just a police report. That is the police's side of the story. And I feel like we rush to judgment and then we don't have the same energy when someone is acquitted later. It's just kind of like, okay, we're onto the next thing. Who's the next person that we can be mad at? So it's a high bar. I think me personally, journalistically, that I would have...

Corry (Silk) (01:02:48.585)
Packs.

Nick De La Torre (01:02:59.8)
tried to clear, not like Nick the bar as I'm jumping over the high bar, like clear it easily. That felt awesome that if I reported this a month ago, I would not think that this would be happening. So I think it's going to be a tough lesson for those alligator reporters. Hopefully it will make them better journalists and down the line. But to report on something this serious, now Todd's got

has kids who are going to be getting to the age where they'll be Googling. If they Google dad's name, now you have sexual misconduct, stalking. Next, hey dad, what's this? And now you have to explain that. The assistant coaches who were not involved at all, but were named in the initial report, had to their names dragged through the mud. So while I say that, you know, like we are sports writers, we're not journalists, this...

Dan Thompson (01:03:48.158)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (01:03:57.772)
talking about this kind of stuff, you are delving into some serious journalistic areas and I think you just have to be really careful when you're reporting these things. I think it sucks. I'm of the mind that when you make allegations like this, they come up to be phony baloney, we need to have some sort of ...

Corry (Silk) (01:04:19.687)
The task where I mean.

Nick De La Torre (01:04:24.142)
No, some sort of like, you know, you can't... No, but there should be some punishment for people who accuse. I think you get into a weird area because you want people who are going through things like this, are victims of things of this nature, to feel like they can come forward. But I also feel like false accusations...

Corry (Silk) (01:04:24.927)
stony.

You

Dan Thompson (01:04:46.846)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (01:04:50.806)
make it harder for people as well. So I think the whole situation kind of sucks for Todd and then for his two assistant coaches who literally had nothing to do with it, but were just like tagged on. It's like they were like, like the alligator was like checking out at Publix and like they just like grabbed Pinin &M's and like threw them on. They're like, these two.

Dan Thompson (01:05:02.036)
Bye.

Corry (Silk) (01:05:08.521)
Yeah. It's like, it's just like in your personal life when like a close friend of yours get caught cheating by his wife. Now you just like.

Dan Thompson (01:05:11.594)
Yeah, my mark notice.

Corry (Silk) (01:05:20.383)
Whoa, I had no idea what he was doing. Yeah, get me out of that. think, I think, no, get him out of here. Babe, we just kicked him out of the group chat, babe, I promise you. Hey check, hey check, I think everybody got to slow down with just allegations in just 2025.

Nick De La Torre (01:05:21.858)
He's like, well, he was at the club with me too. And you're like,

Dan Thompson (01:05:21.962)
You're the enabler, right? It's like, whoa, whoa, hold on, hold on.

Nick De La Torre (01:05:27.257)
What days were you at the club? I wasn't at the club those days.

Dan Thompson (01:05:30.57)
Yeah, yeah, I do not support this, right? I am 100 % against cheating. Get him out of here. Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (01:05:34.222)
Are kidding me? Jason was doing that? Not around me.

Corry (Silk) (01:05:46.611)
let legal processes play themselves out. Everybody's quick to outrage and to be angry at people, counsel people. When it first came out, I always try to find humor in everything, but it's nothing funny about the situation. But once I found out that likely, like, UF would move quick and swift if they found, it was some smoke there that he was somewhat involved. Once Florida put a stern message out, that's in a lot of, you know, just...

Stern messaging, in my opinion, came from Florida when they just stood by and we were gonna let the legal process play itself out. everybody just vibe, chill. We about to go to the Final Four. We just put hands on Mike White, beat them people by like 80 points or something crazy. Shout out to Georgia.

Dan Thompson (01:06:32.668)
Yeah, was nuts. And, and the cover at the very end of the game, Gators do cover in that one. did you guys watch South Carolina game?

Corry (Silk) (01:06:39.154)
I didn't.

Dan Thompson (01:06:43.018)
On Wednesday. So I watched just the last few minutes of it. Glad I did. The Gators were down by I think 16 or 18 points. Just kind of a rough go of it. And for some reason, kind of the way Kentucky was able to shoot the lights out. South Carolina is able to shoot the lights out. I made some changes on defense Gators slowly, but surely March back. Gators lead for five seconds in the entire game. They just happened to be the last five seconds of the game. So Gators win that one. They do beat Georgia.

Mike white is I believe, oh, and six against the University of Florida. It's always a good time because it's, I always like when people retweet the old Gator fans are too hard on Mike white. Why do the Florida Gators think that they should be in the top five or top 10 top 25 consistently? Um, and then I know a couple of them just get angry. funny to watch.

Corry (Silk) (01:07:12.563)
He even comes to

Corry (Silk) (01:07:17.501)
Yeah.

Corry (Silk) (01:07:27.549)
Yeah, good stuff. Mike didn't even show up to the press presser afterwards.

Yeah.

Dan Thompson (01:07:35.945)
Yeah, coward.

Nick De La Torre (01:07:39.182)
He didn't? He they sent us a zoom link but I didn't...

Dan Thompson (01:07:41.45)
Yeah, they he said, I don't know. He just didn't. He just did it via zoom.

Corry (Silk) (01:07:45.437)
I heard he left in the middle of the game like Prince, Prince Lee with Manila.

Nick De La Torre (01:07:53.87)
Ran up on somebody. that Mike White in section 304?

Corry (Silk) (01:07:59.911)
Yo, Mike, Mike was looking salty that whole time. was getting blown out every time the camera pan to him. He was just looking like, man, get me out of this building.

Nick De La Torre (01:08:00.526)
You

Nick De La Torre (01:08:09.804)
mean, like, listen, you went...

You, the situation got so toxic up Florida, a school that will spend money on basketball, a school that has national championships. And you were like, yo, this is toxic. Let me go to Georgia to coach basketball where they, that's like.

Corry (Silk) (01:08:27.903)
You

Dan Thompson (01:08:28.298)
Yeah, I preach I will I will say one. I will say one.

Corry (Silk) (01:08:34.025)
Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (01:08:35.598)
See you Dan. There he is. Mike White chose going to like Siberia to be in a Russian prison in terms of basketball just to be like, you know what, we don't need pressure. They also pay real American dollars here at Georgia and they don't really care if I go 500 every year. They don't give a hoot.

Corry (Silk) (01:08:43.103)
Yeah

Yeah

Corry (Silk) (01:08:53.875)
Yeah.

This weird guy named Silky calling me Miguel Blanco. It's time to get out of here.

Nick De La Torre (01:09:01.634)
Nick De La Torre (01:09:08.318)
Back then it was like some dude with a cartoon avatar and a cigar in his mouth keeps calling me Blanco. I gotta get out of here

Dan Thompson (01:09:08.937)
man, I-

Corry (Silk) (01:09:09.567)
It's time to go,

Dan Thompson (01:09:12.958)
Yeah. That hosts something called logo talk with a Gator with a grill and a joint in his mouth. But, but what I was going to say is I will say one nice thing. hit my coordinate, my whole microphone disconnected, that I'll give Georgia credit for buying. I forget Mike white out of our contract with him. So, so thank you, Georgia. the typical Mike white experience is happening once again in Georgia, you know,

Corry (Silk) (01:09:17.951)
In the joint, yeah. That suit that guy.

Corry (Silk) (01:09:40.169)
That boy's terrible.

Nick De La Torre (01:09:40.345)
You

Dan Thompson (01:09:42.97)
Old John Rothstein, you won't give my guy Todd golden a nickname. He won't put them on a shirt, but early this year he's like George's not just a bubble team anymore. They were like 14 and two. He's like, this is a good program, buddy. I think they've won zero sec games. Maybe one. They stink. I love it.

Corry (Silk) (01:09:58.291)
nice.

Corry (Silk) (01:10:02.495)
I don't know how Mike finessed everybody to get these jobs he's getting. Like, I don't know who his dad is.

Dan Thompson (01:10:09.19)
his family. He's got the pedigree. He's got that nepotism pedigree. Yeah, his dad, his dad was the ad at Duke his brothers the ad at Tennessee did okay at Louisiana Tech and Jordan's probably like I did well enough at Florida their fan base just they don't get it. They don't know how good they have it.

Nick De La Torre (01:10:09.864)
Nice guy really really nice guy Nice guy nice guy. He's a really nice guy

Corry (Silk) (01:10:11.679)
You got a little Venice and Syrian.

Nick De La Torre (01:10:21.134)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (01:10:31.31)
I just don't think Georgia cares about basketball.

Dan Thompson (01:10:33.596)
And that's a shame for a school that produces or for a state that produces a lot of great talent.

Nick De La Torre (01:10:40.686)
Well, their baseball team stinks too. And that's crazy because Georgia is one the best states in terms of youth and high school baseball.

Corry (Silk) (01:10:47.497)
They deserve it.

Dan Thompson (01:10:48.114)
Well, there's nothing that brings me more joy and I can't wait till it happens in this football program.

Corry (Silk) (01:10:50.943)
Maybe those kids could drive well. Don't want to be in Athens.

Nick De La Torre (01:10:52.386)
They deserve it. Georgia is two and five. Georgia is two and five in conference, Dan.

Dan Thompson (01:10:58.248)
Thank you. I know we've got to fact check ourselves on the show today, so.

Corry (Silk) (01:11:00.99)
Nice.

Nick De La Torre (01:11:04.236)
Yeah, well, if any of our facts start and or pertain to Alabama, just assume they're wrong.

Dan Thompson (01:11:10.686)
Yeah, yeah, our Alabama Almanac facts are not hitting today. All right, guys, towards the end of the show, anything else that you guys want to mention or talk about? We'll do one final ad read. I got an exciting part of that ad read that I'm going to share with you guys.

Nick De La Torre (01:11:15.277)
Mm-hmm.

Nick De La Torre (01:11:25.594)
Yeah, we have, what's it called? Over on, we're doing weekly Q &As with players. Those have been kind of dope. I think it's cool. Florida Victoria's just giving people a chance to sit down for an hour. did Walter Clayton. I was like sweating during the South Carolina game, Walt was like one of seven to start. And I'm like, this is not good. Walt's talking to the people tomorrow. I don't need a one of seven and a loss on the road to...

Dan Thompson (01:11:46.738)
Yeah.

Dan Thompson (01:11:50.504)
Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (01:11:55.218)
Windless in the SEC, South Carolina, I believe. No, yes, I seven. I won seven. And we J. Michael the first week and then we got Pup Hauer talking this Thursday. So that's some cool stuff we're doing over there. baseball started last week. Solid team and softball, number one in the country to start this year. Well, it starts in two weeks.

Dan Thompson (01:11:57.734)
Yeah, they're the winless one. Yeah, they're the winless one.

Corry (Silk) (01:12:16.083)
Yes, sir.

Dan Thompson (01:12:21.086)
Yeah, no, excited about baseball. know that there's a lot of excitement about them. Uh, their odds of winning the college baseball world series, I believe are, I think they're plus 2,500 right now. Um, according to bet online.

Nick De La Torre (01:12:24.194)
ECH!

Corry (Silk) (01:12:36.327)
Hey, let's pick out a baseball game in Gainesville. Pull up two. Let's figure that out.

Dan Thompson (01:12:38.952)
Probably, yeah, we've got to do that. Nick, you're on mute, my friend.

Nick De La Torre (01:12:46.71)
Miami weekend, February 28th, March 1st, March 2nd. Dan needs to be yelling at... In Gainesville. You had the chance to come Miami last year.

Corry (Silk) (01:12:48.624)
In Gainesville, Miami.

Dan Thompson (01:12:50.056)
Okay.

Corry (Silk) (01:12:52.223)
Let's do it. February 28th. 28th, so Jordan should already be in town. I think he has that event in Gainesville. So I could probably make that happen. I probably didn't make that happen.

Dan Thompson (01:12:56.198)
Yeah, is the is that one guy's probably graduated by now.

Nick De La Torre (01:13:05.622)
Look at that!

Dan Thompson (01:13:07.57)
Yeah, Gators a little betting odds for you guys. If you care about this kind of stuff, the Gators are plus five thousand won the college football championship, plus sixteen hundred for D.J. Lagway to win the Heisman, plus twenty five hundred that the Gators baseball wins college World Series and plus eighteen hundred that the Gators win the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Those numbers are four days old, so they might have slightly changed.

If you wanted to parlay that all together, you yourself could turn $100 into $42.9 million. So let's see who the real Gator fans are.

Corry (Silk) (01:13:44.701)
Shout out to Todd Golden before we do get out of here, man. Just shout out to Todd Golden, bro. Basketball is back alive as well. Got a Teflon Todd, bro. I just want to give the dude flowers. Like I haven't been actively following Gator's basketball game by game and interested in a long time. These last two years have been dope. Team's fun to watch. They play team ball, defensive side of the ball. The press was...

Nick De La Torre (01:13:47.278)
Winning an egg. Ooh, Teflon Todd.

Dan Thompson (01:13:47.998)
You

Dan Thompson (01:14:06.782)
Thank

Corry (Silk) (01:14:12.127)
was good stuff to watch, man. On the defensive end, they score buckets, they can shoot the three. Hopefully we get a big man back here soon. We'll see what's up. But the team's fun to watch straight up. And he's,

Dan Thompson (01:14:25.064)
Yeah, no, they play an enjoyable game of basketball to watch.

Corry (Silk) (01:14:27.166)
Yeah.

Nick De La Torre (01:14:31.448)
three really talented guards that big men can shoot to. They recruit to, it's not like by happenstance that they're so good on the offensive boards, but it's crazy to watch how good they are on the offensive boards.

Dan Thompson (01:14:48.698)
yeah, it's bonkers. And they're missing their former center from last year.

Corry (Silk) (01:14:50.559)
Yeah, we'll see what happens if we get him back. A guy that just could take momentum and run with it. Like he took last year and he compounded on it. He went to off season recruiting, everything just seems to snowball into more momentum. So I just want to give him the flowers. I want to hop on a bunch of negative things. And then football, bruh. I'm excited about spring football. I'm gonna continue to talk about it, cover it. It's gonna be fun, man.

Nick De La Torre (01:14:54.53)
Yeah.

Dan Thompson (01:14:58.686)
Mm-hmm.

Dan Thompson (01:15:12.285)
Mm-hmm.

Dan Thompson (01:15:17.97)
Yeah, the catered.

Nick De La Torre (01:15:18.55)
I like we need to wind Silk back up.

Corry (Silk) (01:15:20.135)
no, I'm hype. I just got to keep it real. know, it's good for your mental health to be aware of the entire situation. you're not, you can't spring two wins on people like Florida State fans, like media did last year. You know, they fans went a little crazy because it was no realness of what's really happening around the football program. So we just got to keep it real.

Dan Thompson (01:15:21.82)
Yeah, no, we, we, yeah.

Nick De La Torre (01:15:41.856)
Well, you know, there wasn't a single player on Florida's defensive line that could start at Florida State. Not a single one.

Corry (Silk) (01:15:45.449)
That was, but.

Dan Thompson (01:15:48.126)
Can you imagine you book a you book your hotel preemptively in Charlotte for the ACC Championship game and your team wins two full games and one of them is against an FCS team that I believe went one in 11. I mean, that's just that's nuts. And the other one was just Cal dropping the ball.

Corry (Silk) (01:15:59.391)
Yeah

Nick De La Torre (01:16:00.386)
Buddy. listen, so like peel the curtain back a little bit. Sometimes you just like report what coaches tell you. You get locked out of stuff. Another shout out to Florida Retourists. I will not be locked out of practice. I might be holding the gate when the rest of the media leaves.

Corry (Silk) (01:16:03.123)
Yeah.

Yeah, Cal let the set down. They should have never lost that game. Straight up.

Nick De La Torre (01:16:30.722)
But sometimes you just like say what coaches say, but like I would, I would have had a stern stern sternly worded text message to the coach who led me to publish that this is the best defensive line Porter States ever had. And then George Tech runs down your throat in Ireland.

Corry (Silk) (01:16:48.605)
You just can't speak that boldly about another man's roster without really knowing their roster. I don't think Bud had real good intel or what Florida had.

Nick De La Torre (01:16:59.405)
Well, no, I don't mean bud, but I mean like their whole all their local media war chant their two four seven site their rival site everyone was like Yep, we were floor state reloaded best defensive line and this and that and got DJ ukulele He's gonna be great. I was like my guys on his fourth school five star fourth school fifth year

Corry (Silk) (01:17:16.799)
Well, how did we, we predicted that we, we, we predicted the fall off on this show, right? And I don't think it was just because we hate it for the state. It's just, can see the talent drop off. I'm yeah, I hate them with a passion. But I'm willing to admit when they're good and when they're bad, you know I'm saying? That was going to be a bad football team. They about to run it back. It's going to be another bad football team. Do I think they win more than two games? They may win four or five. The schedule is a little bit easier this year, but that's a five.

Dan Thompson (01:17:24.104)
be dead.

Nick De La Torre (01:17:24.664)
Yes.

But we do.

Nick De La Torre (01:17:40.875)
Aw darn.

Corry (Silk) (01:17:44.391)
win team that they got out there. And then they're to be back to square one. We're trying to find a quarterback in the portal again. But yeah, it's just, you gotta just be real with your team and where you at with it, man. We can't wear orange and blue goggles on here. We gotta talk about the staff, the players, the talent, know, every position just comes with it.

Dan Thompson (01:18:07.102)
Yeah, no, absolutely. Absolutely. So, uh, we will always keep it real on this show. We will pump sunshine at times. We will say things that people disagree with. Uh, sometimes we will say things and then we'll say it's a parody show or allegedly laughter. We'll do all of those things. And for the last five and a half years that we've been doing this show, we've always tried to keep it as real as we possibly can. And we appreciate.

Nick De La Torre (01:18:23.854)
I will tell you.

Corry (Silk) (01:18:24.777)
Curve balls, baby.

Dan Thompson (01:18:34.738)

Corry (Silk) (01:18:46.471)

Corry (Silk) (01:18:52.571)

And this is going to be song of the week of Atlanta based rapper DJ. No relation to our uncle silk, but, walk it out in two step or song that.

Corry (Silk) (01:20:29.383)
Yeah, you gave me, didn't know. No, no, relations, man.

Few people thought I'd.

Dan Thompson (01:20:39.518)
are probably not even great songs, but they were fun songs. They're part of my growing up and college and everything.

Nick De La Torre (01:20:46.023)
Bro, what is Dan doing? Dan like bought the flowers and then like smacked them up against the wall before handing them to you.

Dan Thompson (01:20:50.822)
No, no, no, no, I said it there.

Nick De La Torre (01:20:53.036)
He's like, rest in peace DJ Anku, made some mediocre songs. He just brought the flowers, smashed them on a table and handed you some stems.

Corry (Silk) (01:20:53.407)
He got some okay songs. Yeah.

Dan Thompson (01:20:57.438)
No, they were, they were, they were, they were probably fine.

Corry (Silk) (01:21:02.569)
Yeah.

Dan Thompson (01:21:04.414)
But I said after, but they're important to me and how I, where I grew up and songs that I listened to nostalgic reasons. I like DJ on, you know, we'll walk it out or a little two steps. So

Corry (Silk) (01:21:17.993)
Get out.

Nick De La Torre (01:21:19.55)
This, Dan, listen, these allegations, this is a parody, but feels like you're trying to swagger jack, feels like you're trying to swagger jack me a little bit after my song of the week from a couple weeks ago. The streets, the streets, the streets were talking. I feel like you're like, ah man, I gotta try to grab Nick's coattails a little bit.

Dan Thompson (01:21:26.524)
walk it back a little bit.

Corry (Silk) (01:21:30.633)
You snapped last week, snapped, Charley Lowe snapped. Yeah. Yep. That's Charley Lowe throwback. I went down, I went down a rabbit hole, bro. It took me, I got nostalgic. I remember where I was at when I first heard them Charley Lowe records, bro. Who was in the car with me?

Dan Thompson (01:21:42.673)
I

Nick De La Torre (01:21:45.58)
Yeah!

Corry (Silk) (01:21:51.581)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm married so I can't bring it up.

Nick De La Torre (01:21:53.304)
Ooh!

Dan Thompson (01:21:53.758)
I can see why you think that Nick. I did not anticipate that DJ Unk would be passing away just days before the next episode of Stadium and Gale. So rest in peace, DJ Unk. And we'll walk it out with Song of the Week. It's about DJ Unk, that's right. shout out to DJ Unk. Shout out to DJ Unk. All right guys, we'll see you guys at the same corner, same time next week. And we appreciate you guys.

Corry (Silk) (01:21:59.849)
You

Nick De La Torre (01:22:10.146)
This isn't about me, it's about DJ Young. It's not about me.

Corry (Silk) (01:22:12.022)
100%. South Florida legend, man.
