[00:00:00] Greetings. This is Patrick Georgoff with Behind the Knife, Kevin, Scott, Jason, John, Lisa, and the rest of the crew. Wanna take a minute to thank you for supporting us. We could not be more grateful. We also wanna share some exciting updates with you. First, we just launched a comprehensive update to our general surgery oral board review content.
We now have 123 up to date audio scenarios, all with expert commentary. We have 10 brand new interactive videos to test your knowledge and 97 comprehensive operative descriptions that'll have you smooth talking your way through the exam. We cover all of the score content, and everything we create is accessible via our top notch iOS and Android apps.
The material is really fantastic and you can interact with it how you like. When we originally started creating board review content, we were motivated to put out exceptional content and to save you [00:01:00] money. And guess what? We are still doing it. Why pay more? Use our review material and save over $300.
It's the best content at maximum value. Learn more behind the knife.org and take a listen to example
Alex: audio scenarios on the podcast this week and example video scenario link in the shown notes.
We also have a number of really exciting projects in the pipeline. We're really kicking on all cylinders right now and could not be more grateful for the work that our behind the Knife Surgery Education Fellows are doing.
They are exceptional. We have an amazing group. Right now. One of the first projects we're working on is an impressive, I, I would say, oral board simulator, uh, that uses the latest AI technology. Hopefully this will be out soon. The future is now, and BDK is in fact here for it. Uh, we also have Spanish language, general surgery, oral Board review.
Uh, this will be completed, uh, by the end of this year, and we're excited to release it, uh, and share it with the Spain, uh, Spanish language community. [00:02:00] We also have a massive, uh, free pediatric surgery resource under development, uh, by five, uh, really impressive teams from the best pediatric surgery centers, uh, in the world.
This is fairly comprehensive, uh, high level material, and we're excited to, uh, release it for free, uh, to everyone in the near future. We also have a free comprehensive T site review, so all of you, uh, budding cardiothoracic surgeons. I think you'll love this. Uh, very similar to what we've done with AB site, but now for T site, we're also working on free, beautifully detailed instrument flashcards that are designed for surgeons, scrub techs, and circulators.
This is a no small project with over 300 instruments being covered, and we're particularly excited about this one. We're working on a comprehensive. Interactive multimedia general surgery curriculum, didactic and residency education program schedule. This represents a culmination of so many of the great [00:03:00] things happening at Behind the Knife.
So we are excited to push this one forward. And finally, uh, we'll be able to share, uh, some really exciting, uh, news. Soon, uh, we'll have an announcement about it regarding EPA specific initiatives and content. Uh, we've got some new exciting collaborations as well. Uh, the first is with the number one OB GYN podcast in the world, Creos and Coffee.
We have partnered with POD leadership to create a first of its kind O-B-G-Y-N board review, and we have partnered with a really, uh, great group and leadership team at Journal of Medical Insight or Joie to expand our collection of the finest operative videos available. We're also trying to spread the word about two new projects that we recently launched.
Uh, this is dominate surgery for medical students and dominate Surgery Made, especially for advanced practice providers. These are two separate courses, so surgical education material for medical and a PP students. It kind [00:04:00] of stinks. It's outdated. Some of the stuff's pretty lame. We wanted to change that, so we created a curriculum that teaches the art and the science of surgery with a focus on how to excel while on your rotation, not just pass the shelf.
So, uh, roughly two thirds of the material we created covers the standard clinical topics with text, original illustrations, and a really truly practical, clinically relevant audio and video, uh, that focuses on or prep patient workup and oral presentations. The rest of the material covers the essentials, uh, that aren't covered anywhere else at all.
Like how do you insert a laparoscopic port? How do you tie a square knot drive camera? Recognize types of tape, gauze and drains. What's the best way to pre-round? How about close that, uh, five millimeter incision, present a new consult, remove staples, read a CT scan, uh, uh, thoughts even, and, uh, recommendations for setting yourself up to match into residency or from the a PP side, [00:05:00] deciding whether or not a fellowship is right for you.
You know, of course we're biased, but we think this content's really strong. And it helps fill the void that has developed in student performance and expectations. And if you think students at your institution could benefit, then please let us know. We're happy to reach out to them. Uh, and don't forget, all of the content that we create is available on our free iOS and Android apps.
And, uh, you can get all of the BTK content sharply discounted through institutional sales. That includes our general surgery, vascular, colorectal, surgical oncology, and CT board review, and our one of a kind trauma surgery video atlas. In addition to dominate surgery for medical students and apps. AB site review.
And more. Uh, so thanks for listening. This is just some of the stuff we're working on. We're really excited about the future behind the knife and again, could not be more grateful, uh, for your ongoing support. If you have any, uh, uh, thoughts, you know, questions, concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us at hello@behindtheknife.org and follow us on [00:06:00] X and Instagram, dominate the day.
