<v Speaker 1>College football fully kicked off this past week and we

<v Speaker 1>have already seen some really surprising things take place. And

<v Speaker 1>it started immediately Thursday night when South Florida just throttled

<v Speaker 1>Boise State, a team who he thought would roll through

<v Speaker 1>the schedule pretty easily and probably win the Mountain West

<v Speaker 1>pretty easily and maybe even get into the College football

<v Speaker 1>playoff pretty easily. Yeah, not so fast, South Florida could

<v Speaker 1>be a problem. Been On Saturday, we saw Ohio State

<v Speaker 1>completely shut down Arch Manning and the number one Texas Longhorns.

<v Speaker 1>Now I know, Arch Manning is now the subject of

<v Speaker 1>all the memes and all the jokes, and he's horrible

<v Speaker 1>And how did anyone think he could play, and he's

<v Speaker 1>Uncle Rico slow down. He's not that bad. This kid

<v Speaker 1>can play. He'll get better. We saw late in that

<v Speaker 1>game he kind of started to make a little run.

<v Speaker 1>I actually thought Texas head coach Steve Sarkjan didn't do

<v Speaker 1>a great job of having him or his offensive line ready,

<v Speaker 1>and I thought that was a big factor. I'm thinking

<v Speaker 1>Arch is gonna look better the further we go. He's

<v Speaker 1>a very inexperienced guy. Chalk that up to experience. He'll

<v Speaker 1>get some more of it. Unranked Florida State took number

<v Speaker 1>eight Alabama to the woodshed on Saturday, too, blew him up.

<v Speaker 1>He already won to seventeen. And you know, Alabama looks

<v Speaker 1>soft and Alabama looks slow, and Alabama looked like they

<v Speaker 1>didn't really care. Now, I think Florida State looks good,

<v Speaker 1>but it was really hard to tell because Bama looks

<v Speaker 1>so bad. And right now, hey, Bama is in a panic.

<v Speaker 1>Those crazy Hillbillies are like selling chickens and pies right

<v Speaker 1>now to raise the sixty million dollar buyout to buy

<v Speaker 1>out head coach Kalin de boor like as we speak,

<v Speaker 1>they want to get rid of that guy. Brian Kelly

<v Speaker 1>and LSU finally won a season opening. They came back

<v Speaker 1>to beat Clemson on the road. It is probably Brian

<v Speaker 1>Kelly's best win with a Tigers so far. We saw

<v Speaker 1>on Sunday night a pretty entertaining game is Miami scrap

<v Speaker 1>passed Notre Dame. I was into that game. That was

<v Speaker 1>a fun one. And then we had the opening of

<v Speaker 1>the Bill Belichick era in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as

<v Speaker 1>the tar Hills hosted TCU. That did not go well. Hey,

<v Speaker 1>Belichick looked a lot more like post Brady Belichick than

<v Speaker 1>during Brady Belichick or even pre Brady Belichick.

<v Speaker 2>That was bad.

<v Speaker 1>And again, it wasn't just that you and c got

<v Speaker 1>b it was that they kind of quit. I expected

<v Speaker 1>them to get beat. That didn't surprise me. I didn't

<v Speaker 1>think they just quit. But TCU just crushed the tar

<v Speaker 1>Heels in their own building. I mean, at one point,

<v Speaker 1>TCU was up forty one to seven, which is crazy

<v Speaker 1>because that poins bread is also the same difference between

<v Speaker 1>Belichick and his girlfriend Jordan Hudson. Coincidence, I mean, yeah,

<v Speaker 1>I guess, but what a creepy coincidence. Hey, remember you

<v Speaker 1>we are going to dive in to our NFL previous show.

<v Speaker 1>We're gonna knock down the entire thing in one fell swoop.

<v Speaker 2>A lot of.

<v Speaker 1>Times we do two different shows. This year, it's on

<v Speaker 1>top of us. We got to jump in. We got

<v Speaker 1>to get to everything. But first up, I want to

<v Speaker 1>touch on a couple storylines that we've got to get

<v Speaker 1>to because the twenty twenty five NFL season is kicking

<v Speaker 1>off tomorrow night. Got Eagles versus Cowboys, I can't wait.

<v Speaker 1>Got a really good stack weekend of football coming up.

<v Speaker 1>But one thing fans are gonna notice is the new

<v Speaker 1>rule of how they measure for that first down, because

<v Speaker 1>beginning this season, the NFL will determine whether teams have

<v Speaker 1>made first downs by using Sony's Hawkeye system of six

<v Speaker 1>eight K cameras placed around every stadium. Probably have a

<v Speaker 1>better view than Larry does. They will optically track the

<v Speaker 1>position of the ball and the chain gang. They say

<v Speaker 1>it's still gonna be on the sideline as a secondary measure,

<v Speaker 1>but they're gonna use a camera to spot the ball.

<v Speaker 1>I saw in the preseason, I didn't particularly carry either way.

<v Speaker 1>And if it takes the human error out of it,

<v Speaker 1>I am for it. If it takes the NFL's blatant

<v Speaker 1>bias for the Kansas City Chiefs out, then I am

<v Speaker 1>for it. Larry, do you like the new first down situation?

<v Speaker 1>What do you have going there?

<v Speaker 3>I love it, Although I've always loved the element of danger.

<v Speaker 1>You know, with the Chang game with the chain gang.

<v Speaker 3>So they're kind of they're taking that away from us.

<v Speaker 3>But uh, you know, any anything to make it a

<v Speaker 3>little more reliable would be good.

<v Speaker 1>Now, make it more reliable. Yeah, I agree.

<v Speaker 3>The problem is they still have to use the chain.

<v Speaker 2>Gang right a little bit.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you got to make.

<v Speaker 3>Those guys are going to be dozen you know, it's

<v Speaker 3>not there right, They're gonna be asleep on the job.

<v Speaker 3>They're gonna you know, they have to elbow the guy like, hey, yeah,

<v Speaker 3>you gotta take the chain out there. So it's gonna

<v Speaker 3>be fun no matter what.

<v Speaker 1>I like it, Rob, are you in for Are you

<v Speaker 1>in favor of this new situation?

<v Speaker 2>So far, We'll see how it goes. I'm just waiting

<v Speaker 2>for those you know, primetime Monday night game where the

<v Speaker 2>cameras call out and there's there's still some questions about it.

<v Speaker 2>So so we'll see.

<v Speaker 1>Well, you know, we saw in the playoff game last year,

<v Speaker 1>we saw Josh Allen get what everyone looked at and

<v Speaker 1>said that's a first down, and the refs came back

<v Speaker 1>and said, eh, I don't know, didn't seem like a

<v Speaker 1>first down to us, And amazingly enough, it just happened

<v Speaker 1>to be against those Kansas City Chiefs. I know what

<v Speaker 1>of the odds, but it happened again once there. I

<v Speaker 1>do want to keep an eye on this season. We

<v Speaker 1>know the NFL is the copycat league. Well, two of

<v Speaker 1>the top teams in the league, in the Philadelphia Eagles

<v Speaker 1>and the Baltimore Ravens, have bona fide franchise running backs

<v Speaker 1>Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry. And it's not just those two.

<v Speaker 1>I mean, Atlanta's got John Robinson, the Lions how Jamark Gibbs,

<v Speaker 1>Campa has Bucky Irving, Green Bay has Josh Jacobs. Rob

<v Speaker 1>Is the NFL seeing the return of the NFL running

<v Speaker 1>back being the guy.

<v Speaker 2>I think so for now, probably the next couple of

<v Speaker 2>seasons at least, you know, Ebbs and flows with it.

<v Speaker 2>So I think for now it'll it'll get heavy like that,

<v Speaker 2>and then probably another three four seasons down the line,

<v Speaker 2>they'll they'll start throwing it a little bit more.

<v Speaker 1>So for now, yes, I would agree with that. Larry.

<v Speaker 1>We grew up in an era where the NFL running

<v Speaker 1>back was was like a huge thing. I mean we

<v Speaker 1>saw great, you know, backfields growing up. Do you like

<v Speaker 1>this return to that NFL running back being a star?

<v Speaker 2>Well?

<v Speaker 3>I do. I love it, and I you know, I

<v Speaker 3>don't really ever think it was gone. I think it

<v Speaker 3>was just kind of deprioritized for teams that didn't have

<v Speaker 3>a running game or a decent offensive line play right.

<v Speaker 3>The running game has always been a successful way to

<v Speaker 3>go and it helps if you have you know, Saquon

<v Speaker 3>Barkley Right now, for sure, there's very few of those guys,

<v Speaker 3>and so I think, you know, unless you have one,

<v Speaker 3>and I think we've got a few more now, and

<v Speaker 3>it's more running back by committee, less injuries, it still

<v Speaker 3>is an important part of the game. So yeah, I

<v Speaker 3>do like a running.

<v Speaker 1>Game well, and I think, you know, you kind of

<v Speaker 1>allude to this point too. I think a lot of

<v Speaker 1>it sometimes too, is they haven't been able to keep

<v Speaker 1>running backs healthy. You've got Barkley and and you know Henry.

<v Speaker 1>These are guys that have stood up to a little

<v Speaker 1>bit of all the beatings they take and keep going.

<v Speaker 1>Maybe they're just special, we'll see. But a lot of

<v Speaker 1>times you have these these teams going running back by committee.

<v Speaker 1>I know we're probably gonna do that in Denver this year.

<v Speaker 1>Sometimes you just don't have the household name it running

<v Speaker 1>back because he's not always on the field quite as much. Well,

<v Speaker 1>that story I want to watch this year. Last season

<v Speaker 1>we saw one of the most impressive freshman classes in

<v Speaker 1>NFL quarterback history, Caleb Williams played, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nicks,

<v Speaker 1>Michael Pennix, Drake May. JJ McCarthy didn't even play. But

<v Speaker 1>I mean, right there alone, there's some big time quarterbacks.

<v Speaker 1>Are we gonna see a sophomore slump? Larry? Are they

<v Speaker 1>gonna take a step back or are they gonna just

<v Speaker 1>kind of keep it rolling?

<v Speaker 3>They'll they'll take you, I mean some will for sure, right.

<v Speaker 3>I mean it's just odds. There's tape on him now,

<v Speaker 3>all that stuff that that you know people talk about,

<v Speaker 3>so it's not gonna be as easy. So yeah, I

<v Speaker 3>think they're gonna take a step back. Which ones is

<v Speaker 3>the gonna be the interesting part?

<v Speaker 1>Right? For sure? Uh?

<v Speaker 3>You know, guys like McCarthy didn't show anything last year.

<v Speaker 3>But yeah, so is he really a sophomore? I don't

<v Speaker 3>know's you know, you got to count him, but yeah,

<v Speaker 3>I and and to sit here and tell you which

<v Speaker 3>ones I think we'll take a step back. I have

<v Speaker 3>no clue it's gonna be.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's going to be a work in progress for sure,

<v Speaker 1>Rob do we count J. J. McCarthy is now a

<v Speaker 1>rookie as a as a sophomore do we count Caleb

<v Speaker 1>Williams as a rookie? You guys, we were coaching last year,

<v Speaker 1>so maybe he's still a rookie too. How do you

<v Speaker 1>how do you rate that?

<v Speaker 2>Yeah, both rookies, Both rookies.

<v Speaker 1>I mean, I guess there's no way to take a

<v Speaker 1>step back for Caleb. He can only improve. All Right,

<v Speaker 1>we are going to plow through every single team in

<v Speaker 1>the NFL. We are going to give a brief preview

<v Speaker 1>what to expect. We're going to make our picks for

<v Speaker 1>who is going to make the playoffs and eventually who

<v Speaker 1>is going to be going to the super Bowl. But

<v Speaker 1>let's go ahead and jump in, and let's start in

<v Speaker 1>the East, where the Buffalo Bills once again won the

<v Speaker 1>division and made it all the way to the AFC

<v Speaker 1>Championship with Most Valuable Player quarterback Josh Allen. Hey, they

<v Speaker 1>didn't stand pat They've added a little bit to their defense.

<v Speaker 1>They went and got pass rusher Joey Bosa. I mean,

<v Speaker 1>the Bills look pretty good, Larry. Who will the Bills

<v Speaker 1>lose to the playoffs this year?

<v Speaker 3>Well, I'll save that for later, Okay, I don't want

<v Speaker 3>to spoil the surprise. Do you like the Bills are

<v Speaker 3>going to be good. Yeah, you know they'll They'll continue

<v Speaker 3>to be good. They they added some pieces, although I

<v Speaker 3>think they had a couple of injuries too. Uh, you know,

<v Speaker 3>it all kind of washes out. They still have top talent.

<v Speaker 3>They're in a division that they're gonna win easily. I

<v Speaker 3>think you always have to talk about the environment for

<v Speaker 3>you know, eight or nine home games. I'm not sure

<v Speaker 3>how many they have this year, but it's a tough

<v Speaker 3>place to play. So yeah, I got the Bills looking

<v Speaker 3>pretty good in that division.

<v Speaker 2>Yeah, did to you?

<v Speaker 1>I've got Bills go to the playoffs. Robie. Like the

<v Speaker 1>Bills make the playoffs again this year?

<v Speaker 2>Yeah? I do. This is my division winner.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, mine too. I'm gonna have them as a division winner.

<v Speaker 1>Larry got him division winner. You got him as just

<v Speaker 1>a wildcard division? Yeah. Okay, let's jump forward. The Miami

<v Speaker 1>Dolphins took a large step backward last season. They went

<v Speaker 1>just eight and nine. They missed the playoffs. Hey, the

<v Speaker 1>Dolphins have got to keep quarterback to a tongue of

<v Speaker 1>by Lola healthy. He's being held together right now with

<v Speaker 1>some bubble gum and duct tape. And I actually think

<v Speaker 1>their defense could be a little bit better. But Rob,

<v Speaker 1>why will Mike McDaniels be the first coach to be fired.

<v Speaker 2>This year because two is gonna get hurt?

<v Speaker 1>Yes, he will, and when he does, it's all to

<v Speaker 1>go south. Do you like the Dolphins this year?

<v Speaker 2>I don't, And like I said, I think you touched

<v Speaker 2>on it with Two. Four out of the last five seasons,

<v Speaker 2>he hasn't played more than thirteen games. So if he's healthy,

<v Speaker 2>I think they have a chance. But I just have

<v Speaker 2>a feeling he's not gonna make it all the way

<v Speaker 2>through the season, and this falls apart. So I do

<v Speaker 2>not like the Dolphins this year.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't either. I've got them out of the playoffs. Larry,

<v Speaker 1>what about you don't like dolphins?

<v Speaker 3>Touch? Too much? Swirling around down there in the opposite

<v Speaker 3>of Buffalo. They can't play anywhere that isn't eighty degrees right,

<v Speaker 3>So yeah, no, I don't like the Dolphins.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, they're gonna have to go to some cold places

<v Speaker 1>in that division. That's not going to bode well for

<v Speaker 1>the Dolphins. The New England Patriots pulled the plug on

<v Speaker 1>the Jared Mayo coaching experiment after just one season. They

<v Speaker 1>went four and thirteen last year, and they were like,

<v Speaker 1>I know, it's only one year, Jared Mayo, You're gone.

<v Speaker 1>In comes former Patriot and Tennessee Titans coach Mike Rabel

<v Speaker 1>to save the franchise. Hey, Rabel's going to improve this

<v Speaker 1>team immediately because they were a mess last year. They

<v Speaker 1>just looked as organized. He inherits quarterback Grig may He

<v Speaker 1>gets a scrappy defense. Here is my concern. Please remember

<v Speaker 1>Rabel went just a little over five hundred as the

<v Speaker 1>head coach of the Titans. He won the division twice

<v Speaker 1>in six years. He did make it to the playoffs

<v Speaker 1>three times, but he only went too and two in

<v Speaker 1>four playoff games. And keep this in mind, he was

<v Speaker 1>notoriously hard on his quarterbacks. That doesn't sound like a

<v Speaker 1>great combo for Drake may I know people are rushing

<v Speaker 1>to put the Patriots back in the Super Bowl conversation,

<v Speaker 1>I'm saying, slow down, Larry, how do you look at

<v Speaker 1>the Patriots.

<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they're gonna be better. Yeah, but I think you

<v Speaker 3>know that that takes time too. They can't rise to

<v Speaker 3>the level of I think competing for you know, a

<v Speaker 3>division title by any means. So I've got them pretty

<v Speaker 3>much the better be middle of the road for sure.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I've got them sitting at that kind of same spot,

<v Speaker 1>maybe a eight to nine kind of year or something

<v Speaker 1>like that. I don't know that they rise too much.

<v Speaker 1>Rob What about you? You like the Patriots this year?

<v Speaker 2>I do. I actually have them sneaking into the playoffs

<v Speaker 2>as a wildcard. Is a wildcard or one of my

<v Speaker 2>wildcard teams?

<v Speaker 1>Sure?

<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Like you mentioned, Rabel's a good coach. Questions about

<v Speaker 2>the secondary a little bit, But they did spend a

<v Speaker 2>lot during the off season, and that schedule is pretty easy,

<v Speaker 2>so I think that'll.

<v Speaker 1>Be the that'll be the good part. Yeah, good point.

<v Speaker 1>They do get an easy schedule. We'll see if Drake

<v Speaker 1>may is as good as he kind of showed flashes

<v Speaker 1>of last year. Got to see it now all the time.

<v Speaker 1>Finish up that AFC East. The New York Jets were

<v Speaker 1>a disaster yet again. Last year they went five and twelve.

<v Speaker 1>This team has talent, especially on defense. They fired head

<v Speaker 1>coach Robert salap They hired Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron

<v Speaker 1>Glenn to try to fix this mess. Like I said,

<v Speaker 1>that defense is talented, but quarterback justin Fields is terrible. Rob,

<v Speaker 1>why can't the Jets have nice things?

<v Speaker 2>I don't know. I don't know why, but I do

<v Speaker 2>agree with you. I think they will be better, a

<v Speaker 2>little bit better than expected. I think I'm gonna pull

<v Speaker 2>maybe a couple upsets this year, but all in all,

<v Speaker 2>not enough to make the playoffs. But they do finish

<v Speaker 2>higher than the Dolphins in the division.

<v Speaker 1>Okay, we got Dolphins sitting dead last. Larry, do you

<v Speaker 1>like the Jets this year?

<v Speaker 3>No, I don't like the Jets either. I get Aaron

<v Speaker 3>glenn is gonna infuse, you know, a little little more winning,

<v Speaker 3>you know, into the the thought. But I've been hearing

<v Speaker 3>the Jets have the talent, right so I think they do,

<v Speaker 3>but it can't it can't go very far with back

<v Speaker 3>quarterback play. So I agree it's also there. No, I'm not.

<v Speaker 3>I'm not on the Jets this year at all.

<v Speaker 1>All Right, So me and Larry have the same thing.

<v Speaker 1>We've just got the Bills. Rob's got the Bills wining

<v Speaker 1>the division, and then he's got the Patriots sneaking in

<v Speaker 1>as a wild card. All right, Let's move next to

<v Speaker 1>the NFC East, where the Dallas Cowboys are maybe the

<v Speaker 1>most bizarre team in the NFL. Jerry Jones might not

<v Speaker 1>be the worst owner in the history of sports, but

<v Speaker 1>he is in the running for the worst general manager

<v Speaker 1>in the history of sports. The Cowboys got absolutely fleeced.

<v Speaker 1>They gave away linebacker Micah Parsons for an aging defensive lineman,

<v Speaker 1>and like some magic beans, Dallas went seven to ten

<v Speaker 1>last year. They missed the playoffs. They fired head coach

<v Speaker 1>Mike McCarthy, but then no one wanted the job, so

<v Speaker 1>Jones had to give it to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer,

<v Speaker 1>who has a history of not being good at his job.

<v Speaker 1>It's un believable to me. I don't understand it at all.

<v Speaker 1>Here's my question, Larry, what if Mike McCarthy was actually

<v Speaker 1>doing a decent job considering the hand he was dealt.

<v Speaker 1>I mean, maybe he was doing better than we think

<v Speaker 1>he was. What if they're not as bad as they

<v Speaker 1>could be.

<v Speaker 3>Well that that is one hundred percent true, And I

<v Speaker 3>think that that was what a lot of people were

<v Speaker 1>leave because they have roocky JJ McCarthy, who blew isn't

<v Speaker 1>in the preseason last year. Well, JJ McCarthy may have

<v Speaker 1>the best situation for any quarterback. He's got great receivers,

<v Speaker 1>he has a ton of help, he's got a decent defense.

<v Speaker 1>I mean, they should be pretty good. However, Larry, is

<v Speaker 1>there any chance the Vikings could hire Connor Stallions to

<v Speaker 1>kind of shape this whole thing up? That might help, right,

<v Speaker 2>I couldn't decide between AFC North and AFC West. I

<v Speaker 2>know we'll get there, but both those conferences, I mean,

<v Speaker 2>making the playoffs. So it's feeling those two for me.

<v Speaker 1>It's crazy because yeah, I could go AFC North, I

<v Speaker 1>could go NFC North, I could go AFC West. I

<v Speaker 1>don't know that we've ever had four coaches at the

<v Speaker 1>same time that all may end up with the Hall

<v Speaker 1>here's the reason I bring this up, not because, hey,

<v Speaker 1>the AFC West is going to dominate, but because they

<v Speaker 1>might just end up beating each other up. And I

<v Speaker 1>think that's something to keep in mind as we go

<v Speaker 1>some of these, you know, teams in these tough divisions

<v Speaker 1>you guys talked about some other divisions out there, they

<v Speaker 1>might beat each other up and it be a very

<v Speaker 1>difficult season because of that. Let's go more around, Larry,

<v Speaker 1>worst division in the NFL. Who are you going to

<v Speaker 1>give that to?

<v Speaker 3>There's a lot, right And the reason I say that

<v Speaker 3>is because you have those divisions that I picked, you know,

<v Speaker 3>the NFC East and the AFC West, which I think

<v Speaker 3>have three teams that are really really good. The worst

<v Speaker 3>divisions have you know, might have one one team that

<v Speaker 3>is clearly the better team. I have the AFC East,

<v Speaker 3>the AFC North, and NFC South really is is not

<v Speaker 3>very good divisions. NFC South is probably you know, the

<v Speaker 3>easier one to say it's the worst.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, all right, yeah, I would I would agree with

<v Speaker 1>NFC South. I would even throw out the AFC South. Rob,

<v Speaker 1>what do you think worst division is going to be

<v Speaker 1>this year?

<v Speaker 2>Yeah, for me, it's AFC South. Again, everybody kind of mediocre.

<v Speaker 2>You know, there's probably a couple of teams that could

<v Speaker 2>win the South, but none of them, you know, probably

<v Speaker 2>won't advance, maybe get a game in the playoffs. So

<v Speaker 2>for me, it's the AFC South as the worst.

<v Speaker 1>And again, you know, you look at those divisions and

<v Speaker 1>you say, hey, the team in the in the the

<v Speaker 1>NFC or AFC South, whatever, they're gonna have an easier

<v Speaker 1>ride because they don't have to get beat up on

<v Speaker 1>every every single week. So just something to keep in

<v Speaker 1>mind as we go forward. Sometimes you can get a

<v Speaker 1>team that might be a little more fresh in the

<v Speaker 1>postseason because they haven't really been beating up all year,

<v Speaker 1>like they're going to and you know some of these

<v Speaker 1>division that are a little bit tougher, the attrition could

<v Speaker 1>be very, very real. Let's jump into one of those

<v Speaker 1>divisions that we talked about that I don't know what

<v Speaker 1>was gonna be very good. It is one of the

<v Speaker 1>worst divisions in the NFL, and that is the AFC South,

<v Speaker 1>where the Houston Texans were the long team to make

<v Speaker 1>the postseason. They were the one team to even have

<v Speaker 1>a winning record. De Taxans went ten to seven, but

<v Speaker 1>they actually won a wildcard playoff game against the Chargers

<v Speaker 1>and then they lost to the Chiefs in the division round.

<v Speaker 1>Quarterback CJ. Stroud hit a decent season, but he did

<v Speaker 1>take a bit of a step back. He threw twenty touchdowns,

<v Speaker 1>but he also had twenty six turnovers. Here's the problem. CJ.

<v Speaker 1>Stroud got sacked fifty two times last year. And I'm

<v Speaker 1>not sure, but the offensive line might be a little

<v Speaker 1>bit worse. And I can't believe I'm saying that, but

<v Speaker 1>there's a chance that it could be a little bit worse.

<v Speaker 1>Rob Houston, can they dominate this division again or are

<v Speaker 1>they gonna be in a dogfight?

<v Speaker 2>It's gonna be another dog fight. Like you mentioned, I'm

<v Speaker 2>worried about that offensive line. I think the defense is

<v Speaker 2>going to be solid, and also a little concerned about

<v Speaker 2>the run game wasn't down the stretch wasn't great. I've

<v Speaker 2>actually have there. I've got them having the same record

<v Speaker 2>as the Jags and then winning the division tiebreaker. So

<v Speaker 2>give me the Texans advancing as a commission winner.

<v Speaker 1>Okay, you've got Texas getting in, Larry, do you see

<v Speaker 1>Houston getting into the postseason?

<v Speaker 3>I do, and it's a lot like Rob just mentioned.

<v Speaker 3>But I've got the Jaguars winning the division with the

<v Speaker 3>for the wildcard. Yeah, and for that reason, Like I

<v Speaker 3>think we saw, you know, Stroud have a great season

<v Speaker 3>and then he had you know, kind of not so

<v Speaker 3>great season. So I don't know which way that plays.

<v Speaker 3>I just know that I see the improvement on in

<v Speaker 3>Jacksonville enough to in Houston kind of not really havn't it.

<v Speaker 3>So I got Houston in, but not winning the division.

<v Speaker 1>Okay, you've got him as a wildcard. I've got him

<v Speaker 1>win it. Rob, You've got him winning it, but in

<v Speaker 1>a very very close one. Let's move next to the

<v Speaker 1>Indianapolis Colts, who are in a really weird situation. They

<v Speaker 1>draft quarterback Anthony Richardson two years ago. He can't stay

<v Speaker 1>healthy and when he is healthy, you wish he wasn't healthy.

<v Speaker 1>So the Colts decided to hit their wagon to Daniel Jones.

<v Speaker 1>Now we thought maybe it's just the Giants. No, he's

<v Speaker 1>just awful. Here's the worst news. The Colts have some

<v Speaker 1>talent on that roster, but had couat Shane Steichen. He

<v Speaker 1>needs to win. He's going to lose his job. His

<v Speaker 1>heat is hot. Larry, what week will the Colts just

<v Speaker 1>blow this whole thing up?

<v Speaker 3>It might be super early again, like heore right that

<v Speaker 3>they they are going to lose games, and it's just

<v Speaker 3>a matter of how you know, how many times they

<v Speaker 3>flip the quarterbacks around. So I don't think they're gonna

<v Speaker 3>do very well at all. I don't have them coming

<v Speaker 3>close to the playoffs. Going to be a pretty bad team.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't like the Colts much, and I certainly

<v Speaker 1>don't like Daniel Jones. Rob, what do you think of

<v Speaker 1>Let's move on to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He continued to

<v Speaker 1>disappoint every single year. Last year is no different. They

<v Speaker 1>went four and thirteen, and I know most the focus

<v Speaker 1>is on quarterback Trevor Lawrence. I get it, but that

<v Speaker 1>defense is pretty bad too. So the Jags went out

<v Speaker 1>they drafted Heisman winning wide receiver and defensive back Travis

<v Speaker 1>Hunter this year, but I'm not really sure Rob was

<v Speaker 1>that just so he could tackle defenders after they get

<v Speaker 1>interceptions against Trevor.

<v Speaker 2>Definitely, Yeah, a little insurance for Trevor.

<v Speaker 1>Okay, makes more sense?

<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think a little bit. I think kind of

<v Speaker 2>like the Bears. We mentioned they get the coaching bump here.

<v Speaker 2>Also mentioned last year two and eight in one score games. Yeah,

<v Speaker 2>around as well. So again I have them as the

<v Speaker 2>same record as the Texans eight and nine, but they

<v Speaker 3>it anyway. I think the pressure pressure is clearly on Lawrence. Yeah,

<v Speaker 3>couple of care areas, and then again there'll be a

<v Speaker 3>a recipient of a terrible division that they can win

<v Speaker 3>against and uh, and that pushes them into the into

<v Speaker 1>advanced and they could be an improved team. We'll see

<v Speaker 1>got to get better. Let's finish off with the Tennessee Titans,

<v Speaker 1>they went three to fourteen, and they use that top

<v Speaker 1>pick in the NFL draft to grab Miami quarterback cam Ward. Hey,

<v Speaker 1>I actually like this defense a little bit, they scrap,

<v Speaker 1>they fight, and I think cam Ward will be a

<v Speaker 1>huge upgrade over Will Levis, who I'm pretty sure I

<v Speaker 1>can't prove it, but I think he was shaving points

<v Speaker 1>when I actually watched him. I think the Titans are

<v Speaker 1>gonna surprise some people this year. No, I'm not saying

<v Speaker 1>they're going to be, you know, a winning team, but

<v Speaker 1>I think they're gonna be a pain. Larry, Let's just

<v Speaker 1>hope it's not against our Broncos in Week one, because

<v Speaker 1>That's what I'm worried about, no doubt.

<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that would be a tough one. Look, I think

<v Speaker 3>Tennessee is kind of that team that doesn't really know

<v Speaker 3>going to have to, you know, grow up in the

<v Speaker 3>NFL and that right away.

<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I agree with you. Guys could be the guy,

<v Speaker 2>but there's just not enough talent around him. So yeah,

<v Speaker 1>Ward looks like the deal, they've got to be feeling great.

<v Speaker 1>seen a quarterback under pressure just do this, and he

<v Speaker 1>did it over and over. It was the most amazing

<v Speaker 1>thing I've ever seen. He had to be on the

<v Speaker 1>when we have to wonder, if you're shaving points, this

<v Speaker 1>might not be for you. This might not be for you.

<v Speaker 1>And I don't think the NFL is for Will Levis

<v Speaker 1>Next to the NFC South, another division that is a

<v Speaker 1>little bit of a mess. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were

<v Speaker 1>the only team to qualify for the postseason. But let's

<v Speaker 1>start with the Alanta Falcons. The Falcons with eight to

<v Speaker 1>nine last year, and after finally realizing took him a

<v Speaker 1>while that quarterback Kirk Cousins is at best average, they

<v Speaker 1>turned the keys over to rookie Michael Pennix. I'm gonna

<v Speaker 1>say that clearly ESPN people don't know how to spell Pennix. Hey,

<v Speaker 1>the offense has some weapons. That defense, though, is still horrible. Rob.

<v Speaker 1>Is there any chance Pennix can play defense?

<v Speaker 2>Can't play defense? But I think he's gonna lift the

<v Speaker 2>offense a little bit. So I think he solid offense,

<v Speaker 2>plenty of weapons, and I think the defense does get

<v Speaker 2>a little bit better here. So in a week division

<v Speaker 2>medium schedule, this is actually my division winner for the NFCC.

<v Speaker 1>Okay, you've got the Falcons winning the South. I like it. Larry,

<v Speaker 1>what about you? Do you like the Falcons?

<v Speaker 3>I'm right there with Rob winning the division. I think

<v Speaker 3>the offense is going to be pretty good. Yeah, that's

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Okay, I'm gonna have them in a dogfight for

<v Speaker 1>this division. But I think they're gonna be right in

<v Speaker 1>my eight to nine, nine to eight kind of thing.

<v Speaker 1>battling for that for that spot. Let's go next to

<v Speaker 1>the Carolina Panthers, who were awful in twenty twenty four.

<v Speaker 1>They went five and twelve, but they started to show

<v Speaker 1>a little bit of fight. Quarterback Bryce Young, he showed

<v Speaker 1>some flashes well that he might not be horrible. However,

<v Speaker 1>all would talk about Bryce Young, how he's you know,

<v Speaker 1>so little. He has to you know, stand on a

<v Speaker 1>school to get the snapped. Well, if you give up

<v Speaker 1>thirty one points a game, you're not gonna win. It

<v Speaker 1>doesn't matter what Bryce Young does. That's way too many points.

<v Speaker 1>But Larry, honestly, isn't this exactly what owner David Tepper deserves.

<v Speaker 1>I mean, I think he's a horrible person.

<v Speaker 3>Yeah, pretty much. They don't. It hasn't felt like they've

<v Speaker 1>the offense over to rookie Spencer Rattler looks more like

<v Speaker 1>an Arenal League quarterback bean an NFL quarterback. Rob, Are

<v Speaker 2>Pretty close? I'm gonna be in it, right, Yeah, because

<v Speaker 2>of the QB situation is just not promising at all.

<v Speaker 1>are solid if they're healthy. They're not often healthy. They

<v Speaker 1>really need a pass rush though that defense isn't very good,

<v Speaker 1>and primarily because they just don't get after the passer,

<v Speaker 1>Mayfield Napoleon Complex enough to carry these Buccaneers to the playoffs?

<v Speaker 3>an NFL quality quarterback, but I don't think he's a

<v Speaker 3>very good NFL quality quarterback, you know. So I've never

<v Speaker 3>had a ton of faith in Baker Mayfield. I'm not

<v Speaker 3>going to start now. I don't even have them making

<v Speaker 3>the playoffs this year.

<v Speaker 1>AFC West, where the Denver Broncos were a pleasant surprise

<v Speaker 1>last year. They went ten and seven. They made the

<v Speaker 1>playoffs for the first time in a decade under rookie

<v Speaker 1>quarterback Bo Nicks and a very opportunistic defense. Hey, the

<v Speaker 1>Broncos are a really popular dark horse pick by many

<v Speaker 1>of the so called experts. But I'm gonna throw a

<v Speaker 1>little water on this. I'm gonna give you the quarterbacks

<v Speaker 1>that the Broncos beaten twenty twenty four. Baker Mayfield, Aaron Rodgers, Gardner,

<v Speaker 1>Minshew Spencer, Ratler, Bryce you On, Kirk Cousins, Anthony Richardson,

<v Speaker 1>Jamis Winston, and Carson Wentz.

<v Speaker 2>Rob that's not very good. Are the Broncos really a contender?

<v Speaker 2>They're going to be in the mix. I still think

<v Speaker 2>that defense is legit. Despite those quarterbacks that you just named.

<v Speaker 2>Bo Nick's second year maybe a slight step back, but again,

<v Speaker 2>I don't think he has to do a lot because

<v Speaker 2>of that defense. Twenty're returning starters, so they're going to

<v Speaker 2>be right there in the mix. But I actually have
